My boyfriend and his brother went to Stir last night to watch the Nebraska game. Never again!

They had my bf remove his hat, he didn't make a fuss. Then, after the first round of alcohol, the server told the boys that they had 23 video cameras linked to the Council Bluffs Police Station and officers inside the casino. If the men were to "get drunk"...the police would get them for public intoxication and its illegal to get drunk in Iowa. Bizzare! These boys weren't causing problems. They were notified of this after ONE drink. Thanks for the heads up lady!

9PM rolls around and the boys are asked to leave because my BF is in "athletic pants"...the game is still going! So, they stood outside in the hallway to catch the last 30 minutes of the game but some idiot towards the last few minutes actually switched channels so the boys came home.

Now, I understand a dress code policy but c'mon. How can Stir present that NFL Monday Night crap when a man can't even wear his baseball cap and athletic pants into the establishment?

If a pregnant woman was there, watching the game with her husband (obviously not drinking) and she was wearing athletic pants because her belly can't FIT into anything else...would she be asked to leave as well?

These weren't men wearing jerseys and gold chains. They are clean cut men who don't cause conflict. Its just crap.

If an establishment wants to hold a strict dress code policy, they shouldn't be holding game nights for an average Joe to enjoy if he can't be comfortable.

There is my rant...Ameristar has my money from now on!

Yes! Just about! But she is taking me and the children to Orlando, FL. first.

I did plan a private weekend up there for just the two of us about 4 years ago on the "boat". It was her birthday. The Superbowl was filtering into our room from the next room via a bunch of drunks. We were discussing the finer points of "copulation" when these "cave dwellers" were hooting and hollering over a Lion's TD....

But it was still a :brownie point" collecting weekend for me!

No, neither boys are black.

I went to the Harrahs site and did read the Stirs dress code. Atleast they post it on the website...however, along with that was pictures of their "Night Life" and the girls were dressed in sleeveless tops which ALSO is against their dress code policy.

Seriously though, what's the point of running a club/bar whatnot when they don't want you to spend your hard earned money there. And the place isn't that good to begin with.

Hell I hate football, but I would rather watch it at the Arena because well..... ok so the beer is cheap and they have other sports on TV as well.

As many of you well know I work at the Upstream when I am not warping young minds. We have a "nothing sleevless" policy also, but it only gets enforced with men. We also have a "no white tank top" policy, and that gets enforced with both men and women.
I know that people shouldn't go about looking like slobs (ie:sleep pants and slippers as "real" clothes), but lets be real. Sounds to me like Harrah's was looking for something to find wrong about them.
Plus, I am wondering why they would tell them about the drink thing...duh, doesn't a bar want people to drink?
Course with the fire that burned all the hops in Washington...well we all might be drinking less beer.

Yeah...not to "pick" but how is it that Todd n Tyler can get away with wearing baseball caps in Stir? I saw the NFL party pics on their website.

Hat had to come off right away. Asked to leave at 9 because of the athletic pants. Rob is a man... Nothing obscene or obnoxious about him. Well, nothing different than your average guy :)

Two men there to watch the football game. They dropped just under $100 there. Would have gotten more likely, had they stayed a little longer. They won't be getting that business again from any of us.
