I think if Omaha doesn't keep the Series then it will go to someplace like Florida or California, not Council Bluffs.

I have no problem with the new stadium. I just hate to see Rosenblatt go. It'd be nice if they could find some use for it, and it still be cost effective.

If Omaha needs to build a new stadium to keep the CWS in town than I'm all for it, even if it means paying another 2% extra when eating out. I've been going to CWS games for over 20 years and while Rosenblatt is a nice enough stadium, a new stadium would be a hell of alot better in many ways. As far as building the stadium in Council Bluffs, which I've heard people on tv and radio suggest, the CWS is the road to Omaha, not the road to Council Bluffs.

Being an outsider... I heard that there were plans of Great Wolf Lodge looking at the Rosenblatt area in case this deal goes through...

I do know this one point... If I were living in Omaha, I would be pissed that my local city Gov't was debating over CWS, Rosenblatt, the walking bridge, Smoking bans, and whether geckos have gay rights... When you have a sewer project that is in dire need of updating and repair. And you are $400,000.00 in the hole for Police and Fire Union pensions...

Omaha, like many cities and States, is gonna find themselves in a deep fucking hole with a short shovel....

Just to add a bit here, I sort of agree but I don't think Omaha is in unbelievable trouble. Just like every city, Omaha has issues that should be resolved (by experts, preferably) but one cannot deny the financial boost the city gets each year by hosting the CWS. The NCAA has, if I remember correctly, agreed to lock up the series in Omaha for several more years (until 2020?) if a new stadium is built and I'm sure the continued profits each summer will put a large dent (if not completely cover) in to the cost of the stadium.

If you think city government is silly, to which I partially agree, I think having part of the U.S. Senate grill Clemens is perhaps a larger waste of tax dollars. I know the U.S. is not known for its efficient federal spending, but there are some more important issues facing the nation than whether or not the Rocket got a few needles in his ass

You are exactly right Donnie... It happens in all levels of Govt. It used to be that fraud and corruption were kept under the table. Now the politicians do it right out in the open...

Why does a new stadium have to be downtown? Oh thats right, most of the current and a lot of the former polititians have either businesses or property there. Does it make sense to cram a stadium there. Move west!

I honestly don't care where they build it, but I do think a new one should be built (and not on the existing Rosenblatt land)

I think they want to build it downtown to continue to revitalize the area. I can't say I completely disagree. I think there is plenty of potential in the area; they could make the entire stadium neighborhood/village look very cool

I'm just tired about hearing about parking.

OK, dammit!!!! If it were up to me, Rosenblatt would stay. The city does need the CWS. You may think the city is broke now, if the series went away, it would get worse HUGE!!!!!!!!!!

The only thing that pissed me off about the new stadium is the location.The Qwest Center has problems as it is, why take away parking from them?Why? Because the mayor and MECA do not get along, and the city owns the land.

Finally, why not move west? Very,very simple answer. The majority of Omaha's residents live East of 72nd street.
