| Administrator ![]() ![]() | TnT Show 01-02-2002 Wednesday 1-2-02 Todd and Tyler returned to the airwaves this morning after a holiday vacation, one of their longest breaks from being on the air in many years. TnT said it was a bit tough setting their alarm last night knowing that they would be getting back into the swing of things early this morning but they seemed pleased to be back on the air nonetheless. To begin their show, they read over a variety of e-mails that had piled up on them since their departure. There was a hate e-mail or two scattered in the stack of welcome back messages and messages from people around the country who listen on the web. TnT spent a little time filling their listeners in on what they did during their vacations. Todd went to Milts Mountain in Colorado for a little winter sporting fun but didnt elaborate too much on the trip. Tyler and Becky flew to Pennsylvania to visit Tylers family after Becky finally agreed that the drive across Iowa made air travel the only option for their trip. Tyler shared a story about a mishap involving a coffee cup full of windshield wiper fluid and a junky rent-a-car with frozen lines. He also talked about his visit to see Pap, his grandfather, in a nursing home. Pap wasnt initially pleased with Tylers visit because the nurses at the home had to wake him up and due to the fact that the visit occurred on a weekend morning, Pap had no intentions of getting out of bed. You see, Paps nurses are instructed to awaken him each weekday so he can check out The Price Is Right. Tylers weekend visit to Pap totally through off his poor grandfathers mojo. All in all, both Todd and Tyler seemed to have an enjoyable vacation. During their talk about their vacations and time off, TnT once again found out that they trimmed up their sack hairs within 24 hours of one another. They discussed their sack hair trimming techniques for a while and although the conversation didnt paint a pretty picture for me, it was very funny. On a related note, I have recently acquired a little tidbit of knowledge and even though I dont know whether or not to believe it, I think it may have some correlation with Todd and Tylers sack trimming habits. I was recently informed that when two ladies start hanging out together, either at work or as friends, they will somehow, be it by the gravitational pull of the moon, the shift in the tides or the closeness of the ovaries, begin to ovulate together. I dont have a pie so I have no first-hand experience with this but two ladies I know swear its the truth. Anyway, perhaps there is some sort of correlation that can be drawn relating to Todd and Tylers time together and the recent phenomenon of simultaneous sack hair trimming. They have, after all, been working together for approaching 10 years. Perhaps all that time sitting together in the studio has meta-physiologically bound them at the scrotum? Who knows? Who cares? Its damn funny stuff! Once they had caught up on the e-mails, filled their listeners in on their vacation activities, and detailed their scrotal hair maintenance programs, the guys moved into discussing topics in the news that had surfaced over their absence. TnT seemed to agree that they didnt miss much, as nearly all of the local news for the past two weeks has been Husker related. They expressed, once again and rightfully so, their displeasure with local TV news stations whove all seemed to have taken a Were here in Pasadena and youre not! Neener, neener, neener! point of view to their coverage. As the show progressed, TnT found out that not only had the local news stations sent their sports reporters to Pasadena to cover the Rose Bowl, but many had sent actual news reporters there as well. The guys spent some time discussing how the Omaha World Herald sports reporter Tom Shatel was busted over the holidays for DWI. They joked around throughout the remainder of the show and a couple of times, drunken Tom phoned in to burp and slur through a report from Pasadena. At one point in the morning, in a stroke of comic genius from Todd, the term Shatel-faced was born and Ive got a good feeling that one will stick for a while. TnT brought the whole story up again when they spoke to Travis, who said that he had spoken to Tom and he had admitted that he probably deserves any ribbing TnT would be giving him. Brian covered sports for Travis this morning as Attaboy is in California taking care of Rose Bowl coverage for Channel 3. Travis checked in from Pasadena today and talked to TnT about the atmosphere of the game, including the recent booing of the Huskers at various events around the Rose Bowl. Travs been quite busy since he arrived and told TnT that he really hasnt had much time to enjoy his trip. He did, though, point out a celebrity sighting. So far, hes spotted John Luvits at a steak house. TnT were convinced that it was just Channel 3s Mark It Stinks Lee. TnT also tried to get Travis to tell them what the Husker (I cant remember which one) who wasnt allowed to travel to Pasadena because he broke team policy did but Travis wouldnt tell them. Trav said that he will be doing reports from Universal Studios this evening on Channel 3 so make sure to tune in. We should also expect another call from Travis tomorrow before the big Rose Bowl game tomorrow night. Larry the Cable Guy phoned TnT this morning and talked about his New Years Eve shows at the Funny Bone. Tyler and Donnie both saw the show and said it was cool, new material and all. Larry then went on to deliver a commentary about how one should never be in charge of the money left by various diners at your table when you go to a Dennys restaurant. Tune in later in the week for more from Larry. TnT read over an article in the Omaha Weekly paper this morning that detailed various wish lists from Omaha personalities for the coming year. Most of the people who were printed had the same old Peace on Earth crap but the Todd and Tyler wish list was exactly what youd expect from our favorite morning show hosts. They joked of a bag of seed corn broadcasting AM Husker football games and referenced a love child between Travis and Rainbow from the World Herald and so on, and so forth. Even Traviss list was a bit different from the rest of the media people represented in Omaha Weekly, as he wished that everyone would get the TnT show and go out and buy the various Todd and Tyler CDs. As the approaching Dodge Ball season draws nearer, the guys took some time this morning and discussed the upcoming schedule. They talked about the various teams they will be playing and came up with alliterations for the individual games, such as the Massacre in Mo. Valley, and so on. During their dodge ball discussion, Tylers new braces came up again. As Im sure youll recall, Tyler announced the day they left the air before vacation that he had to have braces put on. Well, this morning he mentioned concerns about what sort of damage could be done to his mouth from his braces if a dodge ball happened to pop him in the face. The guys went on to discuss various forms of mouth gear protection that Tyler could try before getting a call from his actual orthodontist that told him they would make Tyler a special braces-friendly mouthpiece for the dodge ball season. The guys then spent a bit of time discussing the things Tyler can and can not eat with braces before somehow getting back into their early morning discussion about their sack hair trimming experiences. I believe talk of the dangers of brace face pie eating was responsible for the return to the scrotal hair talk, but it could have honestly been anything that brought the guys back to sack trimming. You listen to the show, you know what Im talking about. Humorous tangents lead to humorous tangents which lead to more humorous tangents and somehow, in one way or another, it always comes back to sack shaving. God it was great to hear TnT back on the air today! To close the show today, TnT discussed a little football, college and pro and talked a little bit about the Husker game that is airing tomorrow night. In their eyes, if the Huskers win, there should be a split National Championship with Oregon. They may discuss the Husker game a bit tomorrow but then again, they might just stray away from it as all of the local TV stations at 4pm, 5:pm, 6:pm, 9pm and 10pm will all be just Husker crap, Husker crap, Husker crap. Well, thats the update for today. Tune in tonight for the 3rd Shift Replay at 10pm and make sure to join TnT tomorrow morning at 5:30am for another show. Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby-
