Todd and Tyler started this morning’s with an update of the dime Donnie swallowed yesterday. They said that in 6 attempts to expel the dime, it never came out. It would seem that Donnie’s digestive tract somehow has the ability to dissolve metals. Thankfully, the guys quickly put an end to the fecal matter discussion and moved on.

Rob McCartney from Channel 7 came in this morning to take the place of our Phoenix-bound Lisa Volinec. He read over the news and joined in on the topics of the day. TnT brought up the possibility of doing another old style radio drama like the one last year. It will most likely be Channel 7 employees taking part again and Rob seemed to be up to it. In fact, Rob was having such a good time that he actually stayed for the entire show.

Jay Vermitti and Steve Tooie from the Funny Bone stopped in this morning. The two were very funny and seemed surprised at what TnT could get away with saying on the air. Call 493-8036 for reservations to catch these two along with Rocky LaPorte this weekend at the Bone! While we’ve all got the Bone on the brain, there were several calls from Funny Bone waitresses today. The waitresses wanted to let everyone know that TnT are good tippers (unlike the opinions expressed by another caller last week). As a matter of fact, several of the waitresses called in and were fighting over who got to take care of the TnT tables at the Bone. The discussion fell along the same line as Donnie’s search for the anal dime so TnT put an end to those calls too.

TnT replayed the voice mail from the angry, racist guy (dubbed Jethroe…turn your speakers up and click him). They played it late in the show yesterday but thought they’d bring it out this morning to get the reactions of the early listeners. His call actually took over the show as the main topic. Countless people checked in to express their disgust with him and his message throughout the entire show. The guy who left the voice mail actually called TnT to try to get his point across on the air. During that call, he said he’d been beaten up and robbed by some Mexican police at one time and also mentioned that there were some relatives and friends of his (including his girlfriend) who had some Mexican relations. Jethroe wasn’t making much sense during his call. The more he tried to explain himself, the more muffled his voice became due to the white sheet slowly covering his face. TnT eventually had to hang up on him because he kept dropping F-bombs. They continued taking reaction calls after Jethroe checked in. Some of the best calls came from a maid service where most of the employees have Mexican backgrounds. TnT let some of the ladies rant and rave at Jethroe in Spanish. It was great!

TnT also talked with several of the callers about the interesting process of becoming a citizen. Towards the end of the show, TnT sent Donnie out and about to give some of their listeners citizenship tests. If the person got the question right, they could stay in Nebraska. If they got it wrong, Donnie was going to deport them to Iowa. He asked 5 or 6 people questions about the state of Nebraska and nearly all of them got the answers correct.
