TnT Show 10-25-1999

Monday 10-25-99

Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning talking about their weekends. They hosted the CF Foundation’s event on Friday night and got a pretty nice turnout. A lot of money was raised during the event. Tyler also came home with an unbelievable story that he shared with us today. While at the event, he was approached by a “50-something upity bitch”. She said “You must be Todd or Tyler. Who else would have the nerve to wear long hair in this town?” Right after that, she started asking him about other charity events he and Todd participate in throughout the year. Stunned by her initial comment, he answered her other questions. Yep, TnT are nearly 40-years-old and are still getting crap for they way they cut their hair. So the guys spent some time this morning bending over clueless “blue bloods”.

Okay. There was an incredible amount of Husker talk all through the show. Fans checked in, anti-fans checked in, we heard spins and un-spins, Duke phoned in a few times and the Anti-Husker fan placed multiple calls. TnT talked about the game itself and some of the encounters with crying fans they had over the weekend. That’s really all I care to dwell on the Husker loss. NEXT!

TnT spoke to Peggy English today. She’s the author of a book titled “Real Women Know Football”. Her husband coached for Nebraska the first year TO was in charge and then spent years bouncing around between the Saints, Detroit, the Dolphins and a few European teams. I guess that would make her as experienced as any to write a book about women understanding football. After giving her history and credentials, she talked to TnT about the book for a bit. It sounds like a really good book for anyone who doesn’t know or understand football, not just women.

Weekender Joe Taylor came in studio this morning to tell TnT about a call he got over the weekend. On Sunday morning at around 11am, Joe was in the middle of a rock block or something. Anyway, he got a call from a listener who wanted to bitch to him about the TnT show. Not looking forward to the next hour of uninterrupted Pink Floyd, Joe decided he’d at least listen to what the moronic caller had to say. Well, the caller went off on TnT. He called them racists and rambled pointlessly for about 20 minutes. So Joe had to come in today and tell TnT about the call. Shortly into their conversation, the same guy called into TnT. They put him on the air, as they always do with morons, and let him express his opinions. All of his points (loosely used term) were idiotic and irrelevent. The guys finally did the smart thing and just hung up on the moron. They then spent some time bashing the caller and rightfully so.

Larry the Cable Guy checked in today with a commentary on the Jim Gray/Pete Rose interview last night. Larry railed Jim Gray for screwing over Pete Rose by ambushing him with baseball gambling questions. TnT also talked with Larry about the Husker loss.

The guys saw a mascot this weekend for one of the college football teams. It was a large bull or something. Anyway, the animal looked completely stoned, which TnT both found quite humorous. They took a few calls regarding live animal mascots but the subject really didn’t take off. The topic does have the potential to be funny so TnT might try to revive it again tomorrow.

Also relating to the Husker loss, a caller checked in and said he was socially abused this weekend when he and his wife went out to eat after the husker game. He was wearing some Texas gear and had to wait extra time for a seat because he was a “Texas fan”. Once they finally got seated, a resturaunt staff member came up to him and asked him to remove his gear because it was “disturbing some of the other guests”. The story furiated TnT and they demanded to know what resturaunt it was. They found out and said the name over the air a few times during the discussion, bashing NOT THE RESTURAUNT but that particular person working there. As to avoid myself getting into any trouble, I won’t mention the name of the resturaunt (What do ya call a really dirty corn harvester?) Way to go Husker Fan. This topic will probably carry over into later shows this week as more people come in contact with disgruntled Husker fans.

TnT’s gay buddy Byron called in this morning. They asked him about what sort of feedback the people of Avoca gave him after his appearance on the show last week. Byron said he didn’t get any crap from anyone (insert your own sick joke here necks). He may be coming in studio again shortly (insert your own sick joke here necks) so stay tuned.

TnT will be at Hooters tonight for another installment of Monday Night Football. The Steelers will be taking on the Falcons tonight. There will be another Finger Flicking Field Goal competition with your chance to win a TV from NFM, food specials and declining beer prices. It should be a great time so stop on out.

Well, that’s all I’ve got for the update this afternoon. Check back here tomorrow for the Tuesday version. Thanks for watching. Goodnight. –the Alien Guy-
