TnT Show 11-02-1999

Tuesday 11-2-99

Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning by discussing a plethora of topics. As usual, the guys talked amongst themselves about what ever came to mind. It was obvious that a lot came to mind because the guys were all over the place. Lisa read news, the guys talked about Monday night football, the Huskers were mentioned early on, Duke’s release date became a topic and much more. They also talked about arranging a party for actor Matthew McConnahay. They’re considering getting bongo drums and having some naked guys play them in celebration of the actor’s 30th birthday. TnT discussed the death of Walter Payton and spent some time talking about his NFL career. The guys talked about the Queen of England giving away 1 hour’s worth of her salary to charity. It turns out that one hour of the Queen’s time is worth a little over $6,000. Curious as to exactly what the queen does that would be worth $6,000/hour, TnT decided to call over to Buckingham Palace and ask the Brits. Due to some technical problems, they weren’t able to dial overseas. So, instead, they complained about the engineers and phone lines.

The guys got a call from a listener from Mediocre Sandbar with a news tip this morning. The caller told TnT about a guy who’d been spotted spanking himself in a park dressed in nothing more than a baby bonnet and bib. Lisa found the story in the WH and brought it to TnT to discuss. It turns out that some old guy is dressing up like a baby and going out in public in an effort to get off. The police haven’t been able to catch him but have found various items of adult sized baby items at the “crime scenes”. Due to the fact that they don’t know his real identity, they’ve dubbed him “The Big Bonnet”. It was quite an amusing topic on the show this morning. A caller even drew a correlation between the Big Bonnet and Travis.

Byron, the Queen of Avoca came in studio this morning. He hung out with TnT and talked about his new Funny Bone job. They also touched on the possibility of him becoming the Mayor of Avoca. Today was Election Day so TnT spent some time trying to persuaded listeners in Avoca to write in Byron as mayor. They also spent some time talking about other various gay issues. Those issues included Travis. A message board poster put something up there about how gay Travis is. TnT explored the idea but went to Byron for the final word on Travis’s homosexuality. Byron’s “gaydar” didn’t go off so Travis is officially straight (and quite homophobic!). The guys also asked Byron the most pressing question of the day. “Does butt sex hurt?” Tyler spouted out. It was hilarious. Byron ended up staying a bit too long and being late to work on his second day. Colleen from the Bone had to check in and scold TnT for holding Byron in studio too long.

TnT spent some time talking about fat guys on TV here in Omaha. Sense Frank Brown, Byron Wood and Gary Kerr aren’t on TV anymore, the guys had a tough time coming up with another fat guy. I think they settled on the female Channel 3 anchor as being the “fattest guy on TV now”. Wait, I might have made that up.

TnT spent about 20 minutes debating the score and location of a UNO Mavs game that took place more nearly 25 years ago. Worst of all, they pulled the listeners into the discussion too. The reason for the discussion was because Walter Payton had played once against UNO back in the early 70’s. The WH reported the game as taking place at the Johnny. There was massive debate on why the game wasn’t at UNO’s field and after getting quite a few phone calls on it, it took a TnT hater to settle it for everyone. I can’t remember what the caller was dubbed but he was the guy who said that he’d be getting Eric Crouch on the phone to tell TnT “the truth about what happened”. Anyway, the guy still hates TnT and made a few very rude comments to them but actually maintained a rational conversation with them.

Well, that’s all I have for today’s update. Like I said from the start, TnT were sort of all over the board today. There were so many random thoughts and tangents that covering every one in this update would be impossible. Hopefully this will keep you up to date and you’ll be ready for another show tomorrow. Tune in from 5:30am until 10am for another show. If you miss it, come back here to the daily update page. Thanks for watching. Goodnight. –the Alien Guy-
