TnT Show 11-05-1999

Friday 11-5-99

The first hour of the TnT show was spent discussing general topics like things that happened over night, items of interest in the news and whatever else came to mind. Donnie received a speeding ticket last night so there was some talk about that. Duke is getting released from house arrest tomorrow and if all goes well, he’ll be going down to Lincoln in the Chub with TnT for the Husker game. One of Todd’s friends has a picture of Shanya Twain on his toolbox and upon close examination, Todd swore he saw a pair of nuts where there should have been a camel toe. The guys played a clip of one of her songs and slowed it down. It was definitely a man singing. They kept brining it up throughout the show and replaying the song slowed down. It was pretty funny.

Larry the Cable Guy checked in this morning with a feeble attempt at humor. His commentary was about trying to get backstage at a Kenny Rodgers show. I actually caught myself hoping he’d scrap it and repeat the poop artist commentary for a 3rd time.

The TnT Burn Out at Tires Plus on 60th & Ames Street took place early this morning. At around 7:30, Slave Boy Chris began the play-by-play of the event. TnT checked in with Chris for each of the 3 waves of cars. For the most part, you couldn’t hear the squealing tires. It was overshadowed by the large, crackling exhaust as the contestants tried to lay the rubber. All in all, the audio from the cars was pretty good. Slave Boy Chris really seemed to enjoy the whole event too. Several times he made reference to having a little chubby of his own. After 3 waves of contestants (around 20 people), they went back to Chris one more time for the winner. It was a guy named Perry driving a ’77 Trans Am. He won a $250 prize from Tires Plus. Congratulations Perry!

John Paul Morgan from the Funny Bone came in this morning. His wife won the lottery years ago so he does the comedy thing for fun. TnT joked with him about his rich wife for a bit but John didn’t seem to mind. John joined in on the discussions that took place later on in the show as well. He really seemed to have a good time with the guys and laughed out loud repeatedly throughout the show. He even laughed at Irma and the Pope! Stop on out to the Funny Bone this weekend and catch the show. Call 493-8036 for reservations.

The guys spent a little time talking about Kidney stones again this morning. They spoke to their buddy Doug who was in the hospital and still hasn’t passed the stones yet. The conversation spawned a discussion about comparing various VDs with passing a stone. They received some calls from listeners who told horrible stories about having kidney stones and finally got a call form a guy who could compare VD to stones. According to that caller, kidney stones are much worse than any burning-pee-causing VD.

Travis’s Box of the week was “Jim” Shanya Twain. I guess he came up with this after hearing Todd talk about the manly Shanya on his friend’s toolbox. I don’t even know if Travis gave a Lock for this week. His record’s pretty horrible this season so I’m guessing no one really cares anyway. Travis, pick better boxes. What you’ve been coming up with lately is just plain crap.

An author named Sandy Butler came in this morning to promote a book about training dogs. She seemed a bit whacked out and really resented her ex husband. She rambled on and on about how to train dogs and basically let TnT verbally abuse her and make fun of her for the last hour of the show. It was great. I don’t know who is responsible for her appearance in studio but it seems to me that interviews like this one are usually arranged to be phoned in to TnT can make fun of the moron on the phone (like the poop doctor in the past). Anyway, she’ll be at the Barnes & Noble bookstores on Saturday and Sunday training dogs and selling her books, videos and barking collar. If you miss her there, you can call 888-469-2456 and buy the stuff that way.

Well, that’s all I’ve got for the update. Check back here Monday for another one. Thanks for watching. Goodnight. –the Alien Guy-
