TnT Show 11-11-1999

Thursday 11-12-99

Today is Veterans’ Day so Todd and Tyler spent a majority of the morning saluting the veterans of this fine country of ours. They thought the best way to show support for the veterans would be to get people from countries the USA whooped up on to thank the veterans for kicking their asses. For the Revolutionary war, TnT called the Hard Rock in England. They got a hold of a 19-year-old Australian hottie/actress. After talking to her for a while, mainly because her accent was awesome, TnT got her to say “Thanks for kicking our ass.” It was great. For the Civil War, TnT tried several places down South. They ended up calling an IHOP in Georgia and spoke with a very southern African American lady who was convinced that TnT were the mayors of her town. They played with her for a while but finally gave up because she wasn’t making any sense. Later, they got a hold of a southern man named Robert Lee who claimed to be related to Robert E. Lee. TnT tried to get him to say “Thanks for kicking our ass” but the southern guy wouldn’t say it. He did, however, seem to get a kick out of Todd and Tyler.

The guys tried to get a hold of someone in Mexico but had lots of trouble. The phone numbers they had for various places in Mexico didn’t work. And when they finally got a number that worked, Todd’s fat fingers wouldn’t work to properly dial the numbers. I lost track of the times Todd misdialed after 8. I’m not giving him crap, it’s actually very funny when he sucks at dialing a phone! Eventually they got a hold of a Mexican guy. He didn’t understand much but TnT got him to say the phrase of the day. As they let him go, the Mexican guy said “Alrighty”. It was pretty funny because everyone knew he had no idea what was going on.

The guys called a Burger King in Germany and spoke to another blonde haired, blue eyed hottie named Barbara. TnT asked her if she shaved her legs and she said she did. TnT got her to say “Thanks for kicking our ass” in German. Later in the show, a caller checked in and said that she added “but not really” (or something very similar) to the end of the phrase thinking TnT wouldn’t know any better. The German call was for WWI and for WWII. They also called Japan to help cover the WWII Veterans’ Day salute. They didn’t have any luck getting anyone there to say the phrase. It may have had something to do with Tyler playing the sound of a nuclear explosion every time someone picked up the phone (it was very funny). We did find out that a very elevatory “Here Comes the Sun” is the on-hold music for the entire country.

The guys checked in with Italy. In fact, the place they called was the Italian version of Tires Plus. They reached a man and tried to explain what they were doing and what they wanted him to do but he just didn’t get it. They ended up getting hung up on. So they called Korea to cover the Korean conflict Vets. They got a hold of a young woman but a sniper picked her off before she had the chance to repeat the phrase.

They also checked in with a Canadian information operator. Granted, the USA has never had to whoop Canada’s ass before but TnT thought they’d make the Canadians thank the USA for never whooping their ass. The information officer was kind of cool at the beginning of the cal but when TnT told her what they wanted her to say, the lady turned into a real bitch and hung up on them.

All 3 Funny Bone comics joined TnT today. Paul Wiess, Rick Roberts and Adam Farera all came by and hung out with TnT as they called around the world. If you heard the show this morning then you know all 3 of these guys are hilarious. Do yourself a favor and call the Bone Phone at 493-8036 to make reservations over the weekend. Also feel free to visit the http://www.funnyboneomaha.com” target=blank>Funny Bone web site for information on upcoming comic acts.

I think that by the end of the show TnT had covered every war that the USA has been in sense we became the USA. Nearly all of the countries were represented on the show this morning and thanked the United States Veterans for kicking their country’s asses. It made for a very funny show today. I hope TnT continue calling people in other countries and pissing them off. It’s very humorous. That’s about all I have for the update. Check back here tomorrow for the Friday version. It should be another great show. Thanks for watching. Goodnight. –the Alien Guy-
