| Straight Pimpin ![]() | TnT Show 12-08-1999 Wednesday 12-8-99 Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning by talking about movies that make them cry. I’m not even sure how the conversation got started but once it began, it was like the rolling ball of doom from “Raiders of the Lost Arc”. Calls pored from listeners from the first segment until after 9am. The only break in the conversation came during Travis’s sports report and TnT’s conversation with Red Peters (detailed below). People just seemed really interested in talking about movies and television shows that made them choke up. TnT didn’t agree with all of the movies mentioned. The guys just didn’t think that “Armageddon” was that sad. The best example of a bad suggestion came from an early morning listener who checked in with “Best of the Best”, a story about kickboxing. TnT seemed to enjoy giving that guy a hard time all morning. There were, of course, a few non-serious calls on the subject as well. You know, things like “Donnie on the mike makes me cry” but for the most part, listeners stuck with the topic at hand. As I said, the topic lasted until after 9am. At that point, things started to get ugly. Because many listeners don’t tune in for the whole show, there were hundreds of repeats. It was rather obvious that TnT were getting a little fed up with hearing the same few suggestions over and over so they pulled the plug and moved on. Barb and Slave Boy Chris were out at the Wal-Mart on 103rd and Fort Street today accepting toy donations for the Salvation Army. TnT checked in with Barb and Chris throughout the show and listened to toys that make noise. This year’s Chub Full of Toys event is doing quite well so far but they still need more toys and cash donations! Make an effort to get to one of the remaining Chub stops this week and give to the kids. Sean Ganangt from the Funny Bone came by and hung out with the guys for a bit. He was hurting pretty badly because he had a filling come out. After only a few minutes of trolling for a dentist over the air, he got a call and arranged an appointment to have his tooth fixed. If only Sean had such good luck while trolling for chicks on the TnT show. Todd seemed legitimately upset that Sean didn’t arrange to have the tooth fixed on the air during tomorrow’s show. We all know the guys are “big fans of medical producers on the air” and having a filling fixed would have been perfect but Sean didn’t seem to be very interested in waiting through another day of pain for the bit. Sean’s a good guy, one of the few comedians who I’ve had the chance to meet, so you should definitely stop out to the Funny Bone this week/weekend and catch his show. TnT spoke with their buddy Red Peters this morning. Red sings the classic Christmas tune “Holy Sh*t It’s Christmas” as well as “How’s your Whole”, “Come Stains” and more. You’ve probably heard some of his songs played on the TnT show before. If not, go pick up his CD titled “I laughed, I cried, I fudged my undies.” It’s a kick. Red was promoting the release of his new CD in February. The conversation was pretty funny and filled with very Red Petersy types of comments. TnT even played a sample cut from his upcoming CD. If you’d like to get information on Red or his CDs, visit httP://www.redpeters.com” target=blank>www.redpeters.com or call 1-800-270-2299.
Well, that’s all I’ve got for the update today. It seems a bit short but the guys spent a lot of time talking about movies and TV shows that make you cry. They didn’t have time to jet down their usual tangents. It was a great show nonetheless. Make sure to tune in tomorrow from 5:30am until 10am for another TnT show. Thanks for watching. Goodnight. –the Alien Guy-
