Wednesday 12-15-99

Todd and Tyler started their show off this morning discussing the snow that fell last night. Donnie seemed to be the only one who wanted the snow to come. The guys also talked a little bit about more television commercials that piss them off. Also early in the show, Brian Houston from FOX sat in on the news for Lisa who is still sick. I really like Brian. He’s very funny and unlike other FOX people, he seems to have fun on the TnT show (*cough LISA cough cough*)

Dr. Ed came in this morning and answered all sorts of questions. The main topics of discussion revolved around prescription drugs and gray hair. As always, it was another interesting visit with Dr. Ed. Dr. Ed didn’t get to answer that as many questions today as he had in visits past because there were some other things going on in the studio at the time. TnT hope to bring the good doctor back after the New Year for a non-medical show. They want to “hang out and talk chicks” with him for once. Dr. Ed thought that would be a fine idea.

The ladies from Mulberry Lane came in studio this morning to talk to TnT. They discussed their 3 trips to Europe and what it was like going to Japan. The ladies then sang a little bit of Japanese for TnT. After a hunt for a battery for the keyboard, TnT finally coaxed the ladies into singing a song for them. Mulberry Lane then whipped out “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” and it sounded great. TnT were supposed to have another musical guest today as well but they bailed out after they heard how great Mulberry Lane sounded.

TnT had a conversation with their buddy Carl Banks today. He was in the airport in LA but called the guys to talk about his upcoming gig at the Funny Bone. The guys talked to him quite a bit about some of the TV shows he’s recently appeared on. They discussed how whacked out Bret Butler (formerly of “Grace Under Fire”) is, talked about the hottie from “Sabrina the Teenaged Witch”, discussed how cool Drew Carey is and then went on to discuss the future sexual potential of the Olson Twins with TnT. In the middle of his conversation with the guys, Carl drifted off. TnT heard him say “Hey man. I enjoy your work.” Carl’s comment was quickly followed by a very Byron-like “Thanks very much.” TnT asked Carl who he’d just seen and Carl told them it was Andy Dick. Yep, the crazy little blowtorch that got all jacked up and wrapped his car around a telephone pole just a few months ago. (By “blowtorch” I simply meant flaming cubed.) Anyway, Carl will be at the Bone throughout the week/weekend and will be a part of the festivities happening during Todd and Tyler’s live show next Monday morning. He will probably be joining TnT in studio later on this week so stay tuned.

Donnie was scheduled for court at 10am this morning. He had to go to court because today Donnie becomes officially divorced! He took off at around 9:30 and checked in on the cell phone a few times. Shortly after Donnie left, the guys got a call from someone who simply said, “I’m so happy. It’s all going to be over in 15 minutes.” It took them a second or two to realize that the person who was on the line was Donnie’s ex-wife! Yes, the Plaintiff had called in. She figured that with Donnie on his way to the courthouse, it would be her only chance to call the show and get put on the air. She talked to TnT for a few minutes and told them there was no hard feelings for any of the jokes they may have made about the whole situation. Frankly, she was just too ecstatic to give a damn about anything. She was very much looking forward to being divorced from Duck Butt. Before TnT let her go, Donnie’s ex-wife did get in one final “F-bomb you Donnie” so to speak. She actually thanked Donnie for the new car!! It was hilarious!

Donnnie had planned on leaving the cell phone on during the proceedings so TnT could hear what was going on. Due to what was going on at my job, I unfortunately missed whatever happened on the show after 9:55. I don’t know if they stayed on the air long enough to hear the divorce get etched into stone. I’m sure they’ll recap the end of today’s show tomorrow so tune in.
