Tuesday 1-25-00

The first few segments of the show were filled with the standard TnT show chatter. Lisa read her news; TnT commented on it, Zack the virgin came in for another day of sex begging and Todd brought up the fact that his “personal demons” were playing dodge ball in his head. The guys talked about their Hooters Super Bowl part taking place on Sunday and also mentioned their 3rd Annual Broom Ball game that’ll be taking place over the weekend. The Broom Ball game will be featuring new team names this year. Tyler’s Ice Beavers are going to be taking on Todd’s Rocket Sleds. Further details on the Broom Ball game and the Super Bowl party will be given out as the week goes on so make sure to tune in.

TnT spent some time early in the show trying to call other countries. Their idea was to check in with folks around the world and get their take on the Super Bowl. I think the reason behind the idea is that every year the TV people tell us how many countries and how many people world wide watch the Super Bowl. Knowing that American football isn’t the most popular sport of the world, TnT decided they’d put the TV people’s claim to the test. Well, they hit a brick wall. The phone in their studio wasn’t set up properly to dial out of the country. After complaining about it for a while, they scrapped the idea for the time being until they could get an engineer to fix the problem.

As I mentioned, Zack the virgin came in studio again this morning. Much like yesterday, there wasn’t response for the guy for most of the show. Finally someone called in and showed interest in deflowering the virgin. Her name was Audrey and she was 31-years-old. Well, after Audrey’s call, the phones lit up with women who wanted to take care of that Zack. Another 31-year-old checked in and said she’d make Zack a man as long as he didn’t mind “toys” being involved. From there, a 19-year-old named Jenny seemed to be the most enthusiastic about it and plans were made for the two of them to get together during Monday’s show. After the plans were set, TnT got a call from “two hot blondes” who said they’d both take on Zack at the same time. Zack, of course, seemed very up to the task however TnT thought that having a 3-some for his first time might ruin him for good so they politely told the two volunteers no (and asked for their numbers off the air to add to their own personal data-base). TnT had a conversation with Congressman Lee Terry this morning. They spent some time talking with Lee about what it would be like for him if Tom Osborne gets into office and serves in Washington. Then they got on to the real matter at hand: the Arena issue. Lee has heard about TnT’s vow to leave Omaha if the arena isn’t voted in and was more than happy to fill in TnT listeners on things such as how and where to register. The guys talked about many aspects of the arena with Lee. I think things were covered quite well. Lee made sure to mention that he is for the arena and did his best to persuade the few listeners of the TnT show who don’t support the idea into joining all of us on the “YES” side of the fence. Towards the very end of the show, TnT’s international phone troubles had earlier in the show had been fixed. They decided to call that snotty museum in France and get their take on the Super Bowl. They got an answer and the woman spoke English. Thinking they’d gotten lucky to an English speaking person who didn’t hang up on them, they proceeded to ask her her predictions on the Super Bowl. “You called to ask about the Super Bowl?” is what she said and then she hung up on them. TnT decided to try a pub in Ireland and had a lot more luck there. They got a hold of a guy who actually knew the game of football (reasonably well) and talked to him for a bit about the game and the upcoming Super Bowl. The Irish guy even knew the two teams playing in the event. Anyway, he gave his prediction and said he’d be looking forward to TnT’s call on the Tuesday following the Super Bowl for a discussion of the game.

Well, Donnie is heading out to the Super Bowl again. Todd and Tyler said he’d be driving out some time this afternoon. We should be getting a report from St. Louis tomorrow so tune in for that.
