| Straight Pimpin ![]() | TnT Show 02-03-2000 Thursday 2-3-00 The guys started off their show today discussing the topic they brought up late in yesterday’s show: relationships. According to TnT, men hurt more when they break up with women than women do when they break up with a guy. The logic behind this? “Women don’t care.” So basically, TnT opened up the phones for listeners to check in and detail how many people they’ve dumped and been dumped by. The response was very good as caller after caller shared details of how they were dumped or why they dumped someone else. The guys played a call left on their voice mail from a female listener complaining about TnT’s TV commercial. I’m sure you’ve seen it. That spot has been running for a few years now but the latest version has been cut down a bit and colorized. Well, the lady saw the part where Todd strikes a match on the Woodman tower and then lights a cigar with it. The whole scene lasts all of 1 second. Anyway, the lady called up and bitched about Todd lighting a “pipe” and ranted about how he “promotes” drug use on the show. Well, as anyone can see, Todd didn’t light a pipe. He lit a cigar so her entire call was based on her being a moron. After TnT played the clip of the “pipe”-spotting woman, the show took on a new form. Nearly all of the callers for the remainder of the show called in to support TnT and let the woman complainer know how stupid she was. After each caller vented their frustrations and showed their support for the guys, TnT asked them to share their dumper/dumpee stories (bringing the show full circle). The guys spoke with a man by the name of http://www.tommabe.com” target=blank>Tom Mabe today. Tom sounded incredibly similar to TnT’s comedy friend Bill Engvall. He’s put together a CD called “Revenge on the Telemarketers” and phoned the show to promote it. The basic idea of the whole thing is that he screwed with telemarketers and recorded it. The guys talked to him about how he came up with the idea and got the CD deal. At the end of the call, TnT played a cut from the CD which featured a cemetery plot sales man phoning Tom who went into a character that’d lost his job and his wife was contemplating suicide. Spike Rizzo from the Funny Bone came in today. He hung out for a majority of the show and joined in on the topics of the day. He seemed to enjoy himself and I found him very funny. Call the Bone Phone at 493-8036 for reservations or information. Todd and Tyler were joined in studio today by musician Bob Malone. He performed a few songs for TnT and they really seemed to enjoy him (as did I). He’ll be at the 18th Amendment tonight at 5:30pm, in Lincoln at the Zoo Bar tomorrow and then back at the 18th Amendment on Sunday at 2:30pm playing some blues/jazzy type of music. Well, that’s the update for today. Check back here tomorrow for the all-important Friday show. Thanks for watching. Goodnight. –the Alien Guy-
