TnT Show 03-01-2000

Wednesday 3-1-00

TnT started off this morning’s show talking about the big news with Fox. According to the paper, the local Fox affiliate is going to be laying off half of their news staff and cutting out the morning and afternoon news programs. TnT felt bad for all but one of the Fox employees but we won’t go into that. Travis and Lisa should be safe because they’re the evening shift. The guys made jokes and references to the Fox layoff throughout the show. Also in the first segment or two, the guys called Monday’s Vegas trip winner. His name is Gary and TnT forgot to call him yesterday. Gary seemed pretty cool and plans on taking his wife with him to Vegas.

One of the main topics of this morning’s show came after Lisa’s first news cast. She read a story that detailed the various types of cars that are most stolen. After theorizing on why those types of cars were on the list, they began to share their own stories about stolen cars. Lisa talked about the theft of her car while she lived in Phoenix and Todd discussed when he had a pair of speakers taken from him (also in Phoenix), Tyler elaborated two stories. One of which was about his dash, lock, stereo and speakers getting stolen and the other about his drunk buddy who once stole a car. Later in the show Slave Boy Chris, TnT’s resident car thief expert, came in and shared some reasons the various cars on the list are the most stolen. “Expensive parts” seemed to be his most common answer.

The guys opened the phones to anyone wanting to share their stories about stolen cars and they got calls from both perspectives. Yes, actual car thieves checked in a few times to explain their grand theft auto situations. There were a few bad calls that got through on the subject but most of the participants had decent tales to tell. There was a call from a guy who had his limo stolen and returned by the drunk girls that he was driving around. Another caller said he knew a guy who stole Ollie the Trolley (and detailed the event convincingly). Yet another listener told about being chased by a pack of Boy Scouts after her friend was electrocuted by a big CAT. By far the funniest call of the day came from a guy who said he was walking home drunk one night through a parking lot. There, he saw a van and thought he’d get in. When he got in, he had some problems working the vehicle and consequently fell out of the van and ran himself over breaking his leg.

As the guys sometimes do, they tossed out a request for a call that they really don’t expect to get. This time, they asked for someone who was actually driving a stolen car to call in. They didn’t get any calls on that but they did, however, get a call from an insane guy. The scary part is I think the caller was actually proud to have been dubbed “insane.” TnT both seemed frightened and I don’t blame them.

Larry the Cable Guy checked in this morning and talked a little fishing with Todd. Shortly after, he delivered a commentary about baseball’s spring training being under way. Larry was really on fire this morning! Stay tuned for more of Larry as the week progresses.

TnT read another installment of the Saunders County Dispatch report today. It was full of the usual tales of non-drunk drivers and road rage. There was a possible Mazdabator sighting mentioned and that brought back some show memories for us all. Donnie’s Saunders County Dispatch report reenactment today was based around an account of an officer delivering a welfare check in the town of Colon. I’m sure you can all imagine how that little tidbit of information was turned into yet another hilarious reenactment.

The guys got a hold of yesterday’s Vegas trip winner. His name is John from Pacific Junction and he plans on taking his wife with him. Moon Juice stopped by to perform this morning’s Vegas tune. They were also asked to stay around and do another. The band sounded great and if you missed them you can catch them Friday night at the 18th Amendment and Saturday at Howard Street.

TnT ended their show this morning discussing a Glamour magazine article about women and masturbation. According to their statistics, 94% of women do masturbate but only about 60% of them admit to it. TnT seemed quite interested in hearing from women who were A) Willing to admit it B) Do it at least once a day C) Use toys and D) Use alternate ways. I was really surprised to hear as many ladies call in as did. In fact, I’d say they got an overwhelming response from women who wanted to share their twisting off stories. Most of the ones who called said they do it at least once a day. Some of them shared their favorite masturbation toys and others talked about the different ways they take care of that. Most surprising was the female caller who said she had a “Silver Bullet” um…in…and turned it on for TnT while she was talking to them. TnT prompted her to put the phone “down by your pie” and even though the listener gladly did, there was no audio to be heard. The guys plan on bringing up this topic again early in tomorrow’s show so if you missed it, tune in early.

Well, that’s all I’ve got for the update today. Check back here tomorrow for the Thursday version. Thanks for watching. Goodnight. –the Alien Guy-
