Todd was a little late coming in this morning so when the show started, it was a pissy Tyler and Donnie on the mike. Todd rolled in shortly after and they began talking about last night’s Golden Spikes game. Although it was a nice night for a ballgame, the guys said the Spikes didn’t look amazing. The discussion continued later in the show when Travis came in.

Gene from the Brass Grille (1207 Harney) came by today as TnT’s official morning show chef. It was another installment of Big Beefy Friday so Gene went outside to cook up some rib eye steaks that were later used to taunt the Trainmaster. As far as I could tell, Travis didn’t break down and eat the steak but he did have a microphone full of steak juice.

The guys gave away a pair of Springstien tickets this morning to a guy named Andy and his dog. They asked him to run from the studio all the way to the dead rabbit Todd’s seen every morning for the past 3 weeks located on Bob Boozer Blvd. He carried one of TnT’s Arena signs and headed out before 7am. It was pretty clear that Andy had no intention of actually running because it took him about 30 minutes to make it 5 blocks. Slave Boy Chris and Andy checked in throughout the show but progress was incredibly slow. Surprisingly, Andy made it to the dead rabbit before 10am and was awarded the tickets.

Jim Minge, formerly of the World Herald, came in studio today to tell TnT about his new job. As you will probably recall, Jim used to write the Express column as well as a broadcast news column that featured stories about TnT. Now he’s taken a new job as the editor of The Reader. The guys talked to him about the job change and the circumstances surrounding it.

Don Irerra came in studio today and spent a few hours hanging out with Todd and Tyler. The guys talked to him about his career in comedy and on TV and then spent some time discussing some other famous people Don knows. He said he was friends with Bruce Willis and Jerry Seinfield and that Bruce is cool but Jerry’s always been a little arrogant. He talked briefly about opening up for Whitney Houston and said she was a bitchy lesbian. When they got around to talking about people he likes, Don mentioned he digs Larry the Cable Guy so the guys got Larry on the phone. Don and Larry spent a little time poking fun at and whacking each other off. He was really cool and seemed to enjoy his time with TnT. (Just an FYI: The spelling of his name came right from the Funny Bone web site…I always thought it was Dom, not Don. Guess I was wrong)
