Monday 4-24-00

Todd and Tyler started off this morning’s show discussing a variety of topics. Saturday’s Huskers vs. Firemen paintball war went well except for the fact that no Huskers or Fireman actually showed up. It seemed to be mostly TnT and the listeners they rounded up over the past few weeks. The guys described the action including jumping midgets shooting on boobs and Tyler’s near-Oscar performance as he dove to his death near the flag after being pelted by paintballs. Some of the listeners who participated checked in to share their own stories of the day as well. TnT also spent some time this morning poking fun at Tubby Gorgon again. He’s in, he’s out, he’s in, he’s out. Come on, fatboy, make up your mind. The guys also read an e-mail from a listener who said their minister mentioned their show indirectly during the Easter Sunday sermon at “Our Lady of 6-80”. More people think that Todd and Tyler are the devil.

Larry the Cable Guy checked in and delivered a commentary on Speedy Gonzalez being taken by the government and returned to his father. Larry’s obvious sexual attraction to Janet Reno became even more prevalent during today’s commentary as Larry mentioned Janet about 30 times. TnT’s opinion of the situation drastically differed from the redneck, backwards thinking mindset of our favorite Cable Guy. Surprise. Keep listening for more Larry as the week progresses.

Barb and Slave Boy Chris went to 72nd and Dodge Street today to give away some tickets to see the Red Hot Chili Peppers and the Foo Fighters for tomorrow’s sold out show. They set up in the Fuddrucker’s parking lot for a pepper eating contest. The first 3 people who arrived became the contestants. They were under the impression that it would be some sort of chili pepper eating contest when, in reality, they had to eat a 4 ounce bowl of black pepper (the kind that’s in your shaker). When the contest got under way, the 3 sat down to their bowls and began to inhale the pepper. Within a couple of seconds, two of the contestants dropped out and had to go for the water. In the end, TnT gave tickets to all 3 contestants and made the actual contest winner feel like a dumb ass for actually stuffing a bowl full of pepper into his face.

Todd and Tyler announced their 6th annual Festival of Fishing event this morning. It’s taking place on May 6th at Zarinski lake. All fishermen must register at Canfields and be over 21-years-old. The cost is $10 and you must have a valid fishing license. All who register will receive a TnT fishing T-shirt at the event. $92 will go to the person with the biggest fish and another $92 to the person with the most poundage of fish. There will also be a drawing for a $500 gift certificate to Canfields. In order to win, you must be present during the weigh-in and post-event happenings.

Earlier in the show, the guys got a call from a friend of the guy who was “authorized” to take the deck off of a burned down house. TnT spoke of the news reports last week and talked about it today when the caller checked in. He wasn’t actually there, but he knew the guy who was. According to that caller, someone working for the city of Omaha gave the order to take the deck from the home. Later in the show, the owner of the house and his wife checked in to dispute what they heard the caller say. It was a big, twisted story/mess and I’m sure we’ll hear more about it soon.

Lisa brought in another top 10 movie list this morning. Today’s list was about the top 10 sex scenes in mainstream movies. The list seemed to be much harder than the previous sports and high school lists Lisa read for the guys because it took TnT and their listeners more than a half hour to come up with all 10. Many of them weren’t even raunchy, hot, dripping sex scenes but just plain sexy scenes. There were some on the list that probably shouldn’t have been and even more that were left off that should have been included.

For some reason, Donnie called Abe Vagota in Rochester NY this morning. When TnT put him on the air, they found out he wasn’t the real Abe Vagota. The Abe they spoke to, however, was quite funny and didn’t mind that a morning show in Omaha was calling him out of the blue for no apparent reason to chat about films he never starred in.

Towards the end of the show, TnT read a hate e-mail from another clueless moron. They spent the last hour or so of the show talking about all the topics they discussed earlier and bashing on the people who write them hate e-mails.
