Todd and Tyler started off this morning’s show discussing yesterday’s Arena vote. They thanked all of their listeners for voting for the arena, as it allowed them the opportunity to not leave their jobs here in town. They discussed last night’s victory party at the Arena Sports Bar, which sounded like a stellar event. TnT also called Hal Daub’s answering machine to make sure he “hits the ground running” as he said he would. Later in the show, they talked to him and found out he’s taking the day off. TnT seemed to get a kick out of that. TnT also talked about some of the other political happenings from yesterday including Tom Osborne's surprising win (that’s known as sarcasm, Wahoo) and the fact that Tubby Grogan got nearly 7000 votes even though he dropped out of the race a month ago.

As expected, countless phone calls came in throughout the entire show from listeners who wanted to congratulate TnT on keeping their jobs and congratulate Omaha in general on making the wise decision on the Arena. They guys got a few e-mails and calls from people who were pissed off about it but they didn’t seem to care. After all, the Arena is now a definite yes. Whenever it seemed TnT were about to take the show in a different direction, a listener would bring it back to the congratulatory stage again.

Larry the Cable Guy checked in and delivered a commentary on the Jesus mini-series. There’s really not much else to say about the Larry offering this morning so I guess I’ll move on. Oh yea, Larry will be in town at the Funny Bone in about 5 weeks so make sure you all arrange plans to get out and see him.

Mark Lemon from the Funny Bone came in studio today and hung out with TnT. His alter ego, Willie Johnson, drooled over Lisa and had it out on the phone with Tubby Grogan. Mark joined in on the topics of the day and basically just chilled out with TnT all morning. He’ll be opening up at the Bone this week so feel free to stop on out and see him. The guys got a call from the Mayor’s secretary this morning. She thanked TnT for all their support of the Arena issue. Later in the show, the Mayor called in. The Mayor offered his thanks to TnT again but didn’t seem to give them nearly as much credit after the fact as he did on his last visit before the vote when he was pimping pretty hard for the YES factor. Politicians…”Whadda ya gonna do?”

Lisa’s List this morning was comprised of the top 10 sexually suggestive pastries. It was an odd list but the gang seemed to have fun with it. How could you not have fun while talking about “cream filled Twinkies” and “sticky buns”? Travis really seemed to be getting into it with his guesses. I’m not sure if he was orgasming over the sexy names or the food itself.

Towards the end of the show, Channels 3 and 42 came in with their TV cameras and got a little video of TnT. The guys took their well-deserved credit and talked a little bit on camera about the whole arena issue. Then they tried to take some phone calls so the TV station could use them but the calls sucked.
