TnT Show 09-02-1999

Thursday 9-2-99

Thanks to a story read by Lisa Volinec during the first news spot, Todd and Tyler got on a rather twisted topic today: placenta. Yes, placenta. If you’re not familiar with what the placenta is, it’s sort of like paper cupcake holders. The batter goes inside, you pop it in the oven and when they’re all done, you peal away the paper around the finished cupcake. Well, the placenta is the paper. Anyway, Lisa told TnT that Pam Anderson had saved the placenta from one of her babies and has it in her fridge. She plans on putting it in a pond in her yard for some reason. TnT thought it was pretty odd (and I agree) but some of their listeners phoned in with details on the placenta and it’s “nutritional value”. There were stories told about keeping the placenta and even eating it! I nearly vomited at the thought. They continued joking around and taking placenta calls until about 8am but there were several references made to the topic later in the show as well.

TnT had some tickets to give away to the Husker game and a Def Leopard concert so they created a nice little game for their listeners to play. The concept was to have the listener’s parents guess who they caller lost their virginity to. To get the ball rolling on the game, TnT both checked in with their parents. Tyler called his dad, Ed and asked him to play along. He tried to remember some of his son’s old girlfriends and had some success. Tyler was surprised that his dad could remember their names. After Ed named one of the girls and called her a “cutie”, Tyler said, “Dad used to hit on all my women”. It was pretty funny. I love it when they call Ed. Todd called his mom in ND and she played along too. Because all of Todd’s women were from out of town when he lived with/near his parents, his mom couldn’t recall any names.

When Travis came in, he started off his sports report letting Husker fans know that Frank Solich has his own web site. Check out http://www.fsolich.com/” target=blank>www.fsolich.com and get your latest Husker information.
