TnT Show 09-03-1999

Friday 9-3-99

Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning discussing a plethora of topics. They touched on their big trip to Iowa for the Husker game tomorrow, joked around about a bottle of placenta shampoo that a listener dropped off for them, spoke to Lisa about Travis blowing up on the Fox set yesterday and also touched on the PBS show “The Farmer’s Wife”.

Joe and his fellow musicians from Bluehouse came in studio today and played a few live songs for Todd and Tyler. They sounded great! The guys were there to promote a show tomorrow in Tekamah. It’s called the Big Bottom Blues festival and it kicks off at 3pm at the main ball field. For more information on the event, you can check out http://www.bigbottomblues.com” target=blank>www.bigbottomblues.com.

TnT had a conversation with Gary Dolphin this morning. He’s been in radio broadcasting for years covering Iowa college football. Gary will be manning the mike for Saturday’s Husker game that will be carried on WOW 590AM, a sister station of Z-92. The guys talked to him about his career as a broadcaster and asked his views of the upcoming Husker game. Gary thinks that NU has the victory all wrapped up but is still looking forward to the game. He was a lot more interesting to listen to than I expected him to be but Todd and Tyler’s questions had a lot to do with that. Tune in to 590AM tomorrow to hear the un-homered Husker broadcast.

Larry the Cable Guy checked in this morning and sounded quite chipper. He gave Todd and Tyler a very funny commentary on the little girl in the recent Pepsi commercials. He ranted about how much he disliked her. It was one of the best commentaries I’ve heard Larry give in a month! Keep in mind that Larry will be back in town towards the latter part of September. Once he gets to town, TnT will have him up to do the show. Stay tuned in for that.

Aaron Taylor, former Husker and Chicago Bear spoke to TnT today. The guys asked him about his time with the Huskers and what he’s been doing sense then. He’s now living in Wahoo and working for Farm Bureau Insurance. He also mentioned something about coaching high school football. He didn’t stay on the line for long but it was still cool to hear from him. (Truthfully, I have no idea who this guy is but I figured I’d write about him because all of you Husker freaks no him. Naaaa Naa na Naa Naaaa!)

This morning marked the return of the Travis Justice Lock Of The Week! Trav came in and picked the Huskers to win Saturday’s game. “Bet on it!” We’ll see if he gets this year’s series of Locks off to a better start than past years. As I remember it, Travis has always had a pretty good losing streak.

Towards the end of the show, the Untamed Shrews came in studio again. One of them flashed Travis her leather bra. That lead to a question about how often Trav twists one off. He got embarrassed, of course and bailed out on the show pretty early. The shrews came in and talked about being bumped off of a TV morning show for some lady who makes potatoes. Then they moved on to discuss whatever TnT happened to be talking about at the time. The ladies were very funny and if you want to see their show this weekend, call the Bone Phone at 493-8036 to make reservations.

Monday will be a Best Of show because of the holiday but TnT will be back on the air Tuesday. Next week looks like a busy one so if you miss any of the TnT show, check here for a complete breakdown. Yea, I think the Todd and Tyler show is the only morning radio program in the country with a daily analysis of each show. I guess that makes me the biggest geek in the country. Thanks for watching. Good night. –the Alien Guy-
