Todd and Tyler spent some time this morning talking about kids in sports. They discussed how kids have become pampered and then turn into big babies when they get older. The conversation was spawned by discussion about all the Huskers quitting or threatening to quit the team because of a lack of play time or they weren’t in the position they wanted to be in. They took a lot of calls from listeners who wanted to talk about the Husker angle of the topic but there were quite a few other listeners who related stories about their own kids. For the most part, people seemed to agree with TnT and said that kids today are just spoiled. It’s the whole “everybody gets a trophy” syndrome. The conversation carried over throughout the show and I’m sure it will be brought up again as the Husker season continues.

The Nuclear Bees came in studio today and played a few songs for TnT. They sounded great and seemed to enjoy being back in the TnT studio. It’s been a while since the came in. The band will be playing in Westpoint on Saturday and Sunday. There’s some sort of massive car show taking place there in Westpoint this weekend and TnT will be out to help celebrate the festivities. They will give more details on the event during tomorrow’s show so tune in.

When Travis showed up this morning, he danced his way into the studio. TnT thought that Travis might have finally scored, hence the happy dance but it turns out that Trav’s just on drugs. Yes, that’s right. Travis has been popping pills! Actually, he’s been taking some of those funky herbal things that are supposed to help you with this or that. He’s on Cava Cava and St. John’s Wort. The guys spent a large portion of the show discussing such herbal remedies. Dr. Ed even called in to offer his opinion on them. After a while, Soccer Mom prescription medication came up in the conversation. TnT took lots of calls from people who wanted to share what sort of drugs they were using. Many of the standards such as Zoloft and Prozac were brought up but there were a few odd ones mentioned too. The callers relayed stories of side effects and benefits of the various prescription and herbal drugs they were taking. It was actually very interesting.

Cat James from the Funny Bone came in this morning. She’s a local lady who lives in the Country of Ralston. She joked around with TnT about prescription medication and whatever else came up in the conversation today. She was quite funny. Cat will be opening up for J.
