Friday 10-1-99

Todd and Tyler spent the first half of their show discussing whatever came to mind. TnT read some things from the message board and talked about topics brought up during Lisa’s news reports. They also discussed Bad Date Jeremy some more and brought him in studio for a bit more discussion on the whole situation. After a while, they referred to today as an “open phones” type of a day. Sense there really wasn’t any specific topics going on, they felt that opening the phones for anything would be a good idea. There was, of course, lots of Husker talk again but that’s to be expected.

The guys got a few phone calls from listeners that hate them. One guy hated Tyler and gave him a lot of crap. When he hung up, TnT started giving the guy a hard time in return. Shortly after that, the guy called back in to explain his reasons for hating Tyler. It turns out that the caller had Tyler mistaken for Todd. He couldn’t care less about Tyler, it was Todd he hated. The reason for his displeasure with the hosts? Todd once bummed a cigarette from him. Yes, that’s right. Todd borrowed a cigarette from him so the caller hated Todd. The other person who hated the guys called in to tell them she hated them because they wouldn’t give her an answer about a bit they did on the air 3 years ago! Yep, that’s right. A 3-year-old bit has been eating at her and she hates TnT for it. It’s safe to say that it was a Psycho Friday in terms of some of the callers.

Travis read the sports and gave us this week’s Lock of the Week. He’s of the opinion that Notre Dame is going to beat Oklahoma. Trav lost last week’s lock making him 3-1. I’d still say it’s safe to bet your car and left testicle on Trav’s lock but it’s your call. He also introduced a new bit today. In recent months, TnT have determined that Trav’s taste in women is less than stellar. So this morning was the first Skank of the Week. Travis picked Natalie Merchant as the skank. TnT felt that was a good choice for Trav because she’s dirty, greasy and hairy. Another Skank of the week will follow next Friday.

Larry the Cable Guy came in studio around 8am today. He hung out for the remainder of the show and seemed to have a pretty good time. There really isn’t much to say about Larry’s visit. Just imagine a 2-hour commentary and that’s pretty much how the remainder of the show went. It was quite entertaining! The show was brought to a close this morning with Larry the Cable Guy singing some of his funny songs. Call the Funny Bone at 493-8036 to see if there are any spots left for Larry’s shows this weekend.

That is all I’ve got for the Friday update. There weren’t any specific topics for me to latch on to today so the update looks a little thin. There may not be an update on Monday because I have a funeral to go to. I’m not sure of the funeral time yet (arrangements are still being made) so I don’t know if there will be an update.
