TnT Show 09-07-2000

Thursday 9-7-00

Todd and Tyler started their show this morning by calling Jeremy. They wanted to check and see if last night’s planned date with the stripper worked out for him. Jeremy was expecting their call and informed them that she left at about 11pm. Unfortunately for Jeremy, he said he “didn’t get any”. When TnT asked about the evening, Jeremy explained that he baked her some chicken and a potato, they had a couple of beers and then they watched “Fight Club”. Jeremy also said that right after dinner, when he first tried to get some outside, she shot him down right away by saying that sense TnT expected him to get laid, she wasn’t going to do him. He did say, however, that they were trying to arrange a second date for this weekend. Tune in Monday to see how that works out for Jeremy.

Also early in the show, TnT played another hate call recorded by Lynn Taylor. The female caller asked about Todd and Tyler’s Husker Championship Guarantee and how to qualify for the $20,000. Lynn filled her in on the details and the woman then went on to bash TnT saying she has “principals”. The lady also mentioned she only listened to TnT for “3 or 4 days when they first came to town”. The guys had some fun with that information, as I’m sure you can guess. Also, the woman in the call sounded vaguely like Brian Houston’s mom. When Brian came in to do sports for the out-of-town Travis, they tried to get a hold of his mom and match up the voices. They were unable to get her on the phone but talked to 2 people at the businesses Brian’s mom owns and both of those ladies didn’t really care for TnT’s show. As it turns out, it was not Brian’s mom who made the hate call but that didn’t stop Donnie for dropping quite a few clever mom cards on Brian before the end of the show.

The Special Friends Celebration celebrity golf tournament is taking place in Omaha this weekend and Todd and Tyler had a very cool in-studio guest from the event today. His name is Peter Dante and he’s a good friend and writing partner of Adam Sandler. Peter talked about how he got his start working behind the scenes on HBO’s “The Larry Sanders Show” and as Brad Pitt’s personal assistant. He discussed how he met Adam at Garry Shandling’s home and how they became friends. Peter has acted in many of Adam Sandler’s recent movies including “Big Daddy” and “The Water Boy” as well as one that’s coming out in November. TnT asked Peter if he’d call Adam so they could speak with him and after 2 attempts, they were unable to connect. The time TnT spent with Peter was great. He was interesting, funny, had great stories about famous people and seemed to get a kick out of Todd and Tyler. The chances are pretty good that most of today’s show will re-air tomorrow on the “Best Of” so if you missed today’s talk, tune in tomorrow.

Travis checked in from South Bend, sight of Saturday’s Husker/Notre Dame game. He talked a bit more about the upcoming game and then discussed the College Football Hall of Fame located on the Notre Dame campus. Travis’s Lock of the week is Wyoming to beat Texas (+14 ½, I believe). His box of the week is the woman who used to be on “ER”. I believe her name is Juliana Margoliese. I may have butchered her name but I’m sure you get the idea.

TnT got a call from their comedy buddy Bill Envall today. He was promoting his new CD called “Now That’s Awesome”. Bill talked with the guys about the “Blue Collar” tour he’s on right now with Jeff Foxworthy and Larry the Cable Guy. TnT also talked with Bill extensively about television, including his past efforts and any plans for the near future (there are none at this time).

The Full Contact Comedy Team from the Funny Bone stopped in today and hung out with TnT. They upped the level of intensity a notch or two when they arrived. The comedy pair, a set of pretty high-strung guys, joined in on the topics of the day and seemed to enjoy making fun of Jeremy’s stripper situation. They also interacted with Peter Dante quite well. Catch their act at the Funny Bone this weekend by calling 493-8036 for reservations and/or ticket information.

Well, that’s about it for the update today. Todd and Tyler are out of town for the Husker game so there will be a “Best Of” tomorrow. Check back in on Monday for a full report of the Notre Dame experience when TnT will return to the air. Thanks for watching. Good night. –the Alien Guy-
