Monday 9-25-00

Todd and Tyler started off this morning’s show by discussing their weekends. Before going too far into it, though, they had to call their newsgirl Danny and wake her up. It seems that Danny overslept and, once they had her on the air, she dropped the “holy s**t” bomb on them. It was pretty amusing. While TnT were waiting for Danny to arrive to do news, they went back into their weekends. Tyler spent a majority of his time on the couch while Todd took a trip to Mexico. Todd’s trip was mostly consumed by a deep sea fishing expedition but he also got to go to a few cool places like Sammy Hagar’s bar and the Hard Rock Café. His fishing trip got over early enough for him to make it to a bar to catch the last quarter of the Husker game (and Tyler gave him crap for it all morning). Todd joked about buying some bad weed from a little Mexican kid and explained that the Cuban cigars he smuggled back for General Jim were more expensive than anything else he brought back.

TnT got a call from Allison Weston today. She’s in Sidney Australia right now taking part in the Olympics as part of the USA’s Woman’s Volleyball team. She talked about the experience as a whole and then went into some specifics of the team’s past and upcoming games. The guys were more curious in hearing about her non-athletic experiences in Sidney. Allison said she does get to have a little fun even though they are practicing twice a day for an hour and a half. She talked about some of the things she’s seen and briefly described a boat tour of the Sidney port she recently went on. Later in the show, Allison’s brother Mike called TnT. He went to Sidney to cheer on his sister and called Todd and Tyler to offer up more information on the culture of Australia. He said he, too, was having a good time, talked about the nightlife and clubs and said he’d met up with a nice little Russian girl named Natasha (**Homer Simpson-like “Auwwwuauwuuhhauahwwuauah”). They’re going to try to call again tomorrow to fill TnT in on Allison’s next match.

When Travis came in this morning, the guys shifted gears for a while. They spent a great deal of time discussing the Huskers and, moreover, college football in general. They all gave their takes on the Husker’s defense and how bad it sucked and then spent some time talking about Iowa teams. A note of interest to all of you gambling fans out there, Travis’s Lock of the Week came in. Ohio State monster-stomped Penn State.

TnT got into a lengthy discussion this morning about masturbation after talking about a recent episode of HBO’s “Sex in the City”. After various tangents, they started taking phone calls from people who had ever been caught by their significant other. Surprisingly, many listeners did call in with some amusing stories. There were a few calls that were a little off the subject, like the guy who’s wife’s 58-year-old uncle had been twisting one off in the bathroom, fallen down and knocked himself out with throck in hand or the caller who said he caught his mother-in-law twisting one off. The stories were very entertaining even to those embarrassed by telling them. Some of this stuff is bound to end up on a “Best Of” show so if you missed any of today, wake up early on Saturday and catch the replay.

Right at the end of the show, the guys spoke with Dan McCartney, the head coach of Iowa State’s football team. During their previous discussion about college football, the guys were trying to figure out if Frank Solich watches college football on the days the Huskers don’t play. When Dan called in, TnT found out that most college football players and coaches do. They then spent a little time talking about Iowa State’s season this year. The coach had to run but said he might talk to TnT again in the future.

Join Todd and Tyler at the Arena Sports Bar tonight for another installment of Monday Night Football. Jacksonville is taking on Donnie’s Colts this evening so it should be a fun time for all who want to root against Donnie. Stop on out.
