Todd and Tyler started off their show today talking about last night’s Monday Night Football game at the Arena Sports bar. The Vikings have “quietly” slipped to a 5-0 record after last night’s game and Todd seemed quite pleased. Todd also seems to be dreading the inevitable hosejob the Vikings will pull later in the year. In an interesting twist of fate, Donnie realized something about rabid sports fans at last night’s MNF game. He seemed to be astonished at how obnoxious some of the Viking’s fans were being. Then Todd and Tyler pointed out to Donnie that that’s how they’ve felt every football Saturday for the past 7 years only Husker fans were 10 times worse than what Donnie experienced last night.

Donnie shared a story with TnT early in the show about something that happened at last night’s MNF game. Donnie said he was sitting next to the owner of the Arena Sports bar when a guy behind them asked the owner about a particular waitress who normally works that night. The guy went on and on about how big her “cans” are and how much he’d like to “take her to the back of my truck and rail her”. Shortly thereafter, the owner of the bar answered the curious, drunk guy by saying that she’s at home and that the waitress the drunk was talking about was his girlfriend.

After that story from Donnie, the show was consumed by the “foot in mouth” topic. Tyler relayed several stories about times he’s had to put his foot in his mouth after saying something stupid. Donnie, of course, had a few stories of his own. Todd, on the other hand, didn’t seem to have any stories to share and blamed it on the fact that he’s such a nice guy who thinks before he speaks. TnT called Tyler’s dad, the always funny and entertaining Ed Utah, to hear Ed tell them a story about Tyler’s sister. Ed then detailed the event, which is as follows. Ed, his daughter and several other people were out at dinner. Ed was sitting next to his daughter in a booth. She happens to have large breasts. At one point in the evening, one of Ed’s buddies came into the restaurant. Due to funky architectural geometry, Ed’s buddy was only able to see him and his daughter sitting side by side in the booth. The next day, Ed met up with the friend who had seen him at the restaurant the night before. The guy proceeded to ask Ed, “Who was the chick with the big tits you were with last night?” Ed’s reply was, “You’re gonna kill yourself for asking. That was my daughter.” The story was the classic example of a foot in mouth situation. After that, the guys opened up the phone lines and took similar calls on the subject for the remainder of the show. With the exception of a few racists and other variations of just plain assholes, the calls were very amusing. Unfortunately, there’s way too many to document. If you missed the show, shame on you for not listening. You really missed out today.

Travis came in and did sports this morning. At one point in the show, the gang got into a discussion about adults wearing sports jerseys with the names of professional players on the back. Everyone seemed to agree that a grown man wearing a Scott Frost jersey is a little ridiculous but they seemed to understand it a bit more if a kid was wearing it. TnT both thought it was cooler to have your own last name on a pro team jersey instead. The guys then discussed how they will sometimes get jerseys as part of a promotion and the organization giving the jerseys will put their names on the back. Tyler’s last name is Tyler so his jerseys look right. Todd, on the other hand, gets “Todd” jerseys instead of “Brandt” jerseys. He said he hates to where them in public because it looks stupid. At that point, Tyler agreed saying “Todd” jerseys do look dumb. Todd also stated that he’s worn such jerseys out and about by accident a few times and always feels stupid when someone asks him if he’s Todd from the Todd and Tyler show.

Tomorrow, TnT are going to start setting things up for a special Columbus Day show on Thursday. Big Pussy is going to be helping out with whatever the guys have planned. Tune in tomorrow for details of the event and perhaps you can be a part of the planning with your suggestions.

PS Cooking tip of the day. If you microwave cream cheese jalapeno poppers inadvertently for 11 minutes while you sit down to finish a paragraph of your daily TnT update, you end up with inedible very dry, nearly black nodules of nasty.
