TnT Show 10-19-2000

Thursday 10-19-00

The guys started off their show today with discussion of the “Spice 2” channel on Cox. A caller recently said that the channel shows “penetration”. For show research, Tyler rented a 6 hour block to test the listener’s information. Well, Tyler was disappointed because “Spice 2” does not show “penetration”. TnT also discussed the “T” square of love this morning. On the news last night, as well as in the paper today, a section of town was labeled as a prostitution hot spot. The gang spent quite a bit of time all morning long discussing that area of town and the seedy things that go on there. Many calls on hookers and the “T” section of love came in during the last half of the show.

TnT had a conversation with Richard Cheese this morning. He was promoting a CD he’s created called “Lounge Against the Machine”. The CD is full of various rock tunes that have been lounged up. The guys played a few tracks from the CD and talked with Dick Cheese about the concept. You can order the CD or find out more information by visiting http://www.richardcheese.com” target=blank>www.richardcheese.com.

A woman named Bev from the anti-proposition 416 group, BAD, came in studio this morning bearing gifts for TnT. The guys ate up the cookies and seemed fine, however, it is believed the cookies might have given Donnie gay. Bev (perhaps Beth??) expressed how much their group appreciated TnT’s support for their point of view on Proposition 416. She talked about the 80 churches that are on the anti-proposition 416 side and asked for more support. If you’re interested, call 346-5960. By the way, Travis couldn’t eat the cookies for fear of them giving him gay.

TnT played their interview with George Carlin this morning. The interview seemed to center around how George prepares and polishes his shows and details on his various HBO specials. I’m striving for something else to write about the conversation but there really isn’t much more to detail. It was a very cool interview that will most likely get replayed on an upcoming “Best Of” show.

TnT spoke with Peter VanSant from CBS’s “48 Hours” program. He talked about a segment that is airing tonight about a woman named Lori Barrenson. He went into a long explanation bout how she was captured in Peru and there were references made to hooded judges, terrorism and a prison at 13,000 feet above sea level. Peter also talked about what could only be described as “blow tea”. Check it out tonight on CBS at 8pm if you’re interested.

Sean Gnandt from the Funny Bone came in and hung out with TnT all morning long. Sean’s been trying to talk his girlfriend into moving from Cleveland to Omaha with him but she’s reluctant to come. TnT tried all morning long to get a hold of her but the lazy, “artsy fartsy” chick wouldn’t roll out of bed and answer the phone. Catch Sean at the Funny Bone all weekend. He’s quite humorous, as comedians tend to be.

TnT spoke with Joe Rogan today. He’s a comedian/actor who used to play an engineer on “News Radio”. They talked about his TV career, which included a horrible Fox show about baseball that lasted about a month as well as his comedy career and his time on “News Radio”. TnT asked him about Phil and Bren Hartman. He said Phil was a rad guy but Bren was a psycho bitch. Joe mentioned that he’d like to come to Omaha after hearing good things from fellow comedians. TnT said they’d try to hook him up with the people at the Funny Bone to make that happen. We could be seeing him in town soon. You can check out his web site at http://www.joerogan.net/joerogan.shtml” target=blank>www.joerogan.net.

Towards the end of the show, Slave Boy Jeremy came in and informed TnT that his blind date for Friday night is a Wiccan. Knowing that, TnT spent the remainder of the show playing a few songs with the word “witch” in the title. Further details on Jeremy’s date with Miss Bewitched will be aired on Monday, I’m sure.

Right at the end of the show, TnT read a message board post/e-mail from a guy blasting Tyler for his comments relating to the world of sports. The guys dissected the e-mail offering logical rebuttals to the comments made by the clueless listener. There’s really not much more to detail about it so I’ll bring today’s update to a close.

That’s all for the Thursday update. Tomorrow, TnT will be joined by the Funny Bone headliner and they’ll also have a musical guest in studio. Travis will be giving yet another stellar Lock and Box of the week and Eddie Money will also blow off TnT as well. Thanks for watching. Good night. –Corby-
