TnT Show 10-20-2000

Friday 10-20-00

The guys started off their show this morning by talking about Halloween pranks. The subject came up because Tyler had some pumpkins stolen last night. TnT discussed some of the pranks they pulled as kids and took lots of calls from listeners who had Halloween/vandalism stories to share as well. Calls on the subject continued after Dani’s first newscast and throughout the rest of the show.

Jeff Schrier from Schrier Ford came in this morning to talk to TnT about the big Schrier Ford Manager’s Sale taking place tonight from 5-Midnight. He also listened to one of TnT’s Schrier Ford endorsements and seemed to enjoy it. Before he left, Jeff also shared a Halloween prank story with TnT that involved some hot twins, some toilet paper and a soggy lawn. Check out the event at Schrier Ford tonight. The deals sound massive.

Larry the Cable Guy checked in this morning and delivered a political commentary full of Gore and Reno references. Larry also talked with TnT about his upcoming visit to Omaha and the Funny Bone on New Years Eve. Visit Larry’s web site at http://www.larrythecableguy.com” target=blank>www.larrythecableguy.com.

Todd Glass and Tammy Pescatelli from the Funny Bone came in studio today and hung out with TnT. Both of them joined in on the topics of the day. Todd Glass, at one point, took up about a minute of airtime so he could give a commentary on how much he hates hair weaves. Later in the show, he got into a huge chat with TnT and Travis about homosexuality and the logic behind Proposition 416. Catch Todd, Tammy and Sean at the Funny Bone this weekend. Call the Bone Phone at 493-8036 for reservations, information or just to breath heavy at Colleen.

The guys sent Sean Gnandt and Big Pussy to Omaha Steaks this morning to play a little hallway football. Once there, the two rounded up a couple of Omaha Steaks employees, teamed them up and proceeded to play football in the hallway. Big Pussy took the roll of “all-time quarterback” while Sean did very bad play-by-play and blew “the gayest sounding whistle ever”. Todd and Tyler didn’t seem to be very happy with the way the bit sounded on the air so they put an end to it after about 3 minutes. The people who participated in the game were awarded the ever-so-valuable Husker Vs. Bailer tickets for tomorrow’s game.

Travis’s Lock of the week is UNO getting 7 against North Dakota State. He actually had to make up the line for the UNO game, which TnT found to be pretty cheesy. Tune in Monday to see if Travis’s line-setting skills worked towards the benefit of his 2-5 Lock record for this season. Travis’s Box of the week pick was Juliet Lewis from such films as “Natural Born Killers”, “Kalifornia” and “Tards In Love”.

The fellas from Acoustic Groove came in this morning and played a few tunes for TnT. They sounded great. The gang hung out for a while and chatted with TnT, too. You can catch them at Coosies this Friday and Saturday and at the AmeriSports Bar next weekend. I can’t find “Coosies” in the phone book under “C” or “K” so I’m not sure if I spelled it correctly. No address was mentioned for the place on the air either. Good luck finding it.

TnT had a conversation with Tina Yothers today. She was the little blonde girl on the 80’s TV hit “Family Ties”. Well, she’s all grown up and is now the front-woman for a band called Jaded (put together by her brother). TnT played a few clips from the CD and it sounded pretty good. Very Courtney Love-ish. The guys talked to her for a bit about the band but were more interested in hearing her talk about her years on “Family Ties”. Surprisingly, Tina wasn’t bitter about her time on the TV show and actually seemed to enjoy sharing stories and details about it. It was cool to finally hear someone who was a child star not being an asshole when it comes to talking about their childhood successes. Feel free to visit the band’s web site at http://www.jadedonline.com/” target=blank>www.jadedonline.com.

That’s the Friday update. Thanks for watching. Good night. –Corby-
