TnT Show 10-24-2000

Tuesday 10-24-00

The guys started off their show this morning discussing a variety of subjects. Last night’s Monday Night Football game was a topic of interest. Hunting and, more specifically, the guy who got shot in the ass with an arrow came up as did the victim’s lawyer, James Martin Davis. They talked about how drinking seems to go hand-in-hand with hunting and, to prove their point, they got a call from a guy who was about to go hunting who had “already put 3 beers in me”. TnT also commented on the “feel good legislation” centering on the lowering of the legal blood alcohol limit from .1 to .08. They, once again, stated their opinion on how each person should be tested to find their own legal limit even though they realize such a think could never be done.

TnT continued yesterday’s discussion about “baggage”. Callers checked in to talk with TnT about it and the guys shared some of their own thoughts on emotional and physical baggage. They even tossed around the idea of having a “No Baggage” mixer for their listeners to help some of them hook up. After Travis’s sportscast, they got back on the topic for a bit. At that point, the subject sort of turned into a discussion about how “clingy” Todd is. Todd had mentioned he drove to Louisville to sleep at his girlfriend’s house last night because he doesn’t like to sleep alone. Travis, Dani and Tyler all seemed to gang up on Todd and give him a hard time. Todd seemed to take offence to their pokes and prods and actually seemed a bit upset at all the ribbing he was getting. Seconds later, they all kissed and made up and the show moved on.

The guys put in a call to Tyler’s dad this morning. The guys wanted to find out if he had any idea who Charlie McBride was. Ed didn’t know. The guys also asked for Ed’s unbiased opinion on whether or not the Huskers could beat Oklahoma. I’m sure all of you Husker fans will be happy to know that Ed thinks the Huskers will emerge victorious. While they had him on the phone, TnT also got some more of Ed’s college football picks. Ed is coming to town for the Husker game next weekend so we’ll probably be hearing more from him soon.

The guys have been working on rounding up some former Huskers to come in studio on Thursday morning and perform bits of the musical “Oklahoma”. They discussed how big of a dick Tommy Frazier is also. At one point in the conversation, the guys mentioned Charlie McBride again. A few moments later, Donnie had Charlie on the phone with TnT. The first question TnT asked Charlie was if he missed coaching. Charlie’s answer was a resounding “No!” They talked with him about selling his house and then ran by their idea to get him in studio to sing “Oklahoma” songs on Thursday. It didn’t sound like Charlie was going to make it. After the conversation, Donnie came in and told TnT about what he had heard over the phone when he placed the call to the McBride residence. Donnie said he heard Charlie’s wife telling him who was on the phone and heard Charlie in the background grumble “Oh God!” TnT seemed to get a kick out of that.

Towards the end of the show, TnT somehow got into a discussion about when they were wrong. Lots of calls from listeners came in from people eager to tell TnT just exactly when they had been incorrect. Unfortunately, many of the callers didn’t seem to understand what Todd and Tyler were saying. They wanted examples of times they’d been incorrect factually. A majority of the callers listed times when TnT had predicted something that later turned out the other way or they confused the opinions of Todd and Tyler as fact. Most of the good calls were actually the more humorous ones. In particular, one caller said the guys were wrong when they “hired Donnie”. Another caller said they were wrong when they said the weather for the Birthday Bash would be nice. I’m sure more accounts of when TnT were wrong will be mentioned tomorrow when the guys get their early morning e-mails so keep listening for that.

That’s it for the Tuesday update. Check back tomorrow for the Wednesday version. Thanks for watching. Good night. –Corby-
