Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning by reading an e-mail from a listener who bashed them for their talk about the Huskers. The e-mailer seemed like he was a TnT fan but said he was sick of them giving the Huskers such a hard time. The guys also touched on a few other topics from recent shows including the Bad 416. After Dani’s first newscast, she had a really bad relationship quiz for TnT. The questions were way too general and it was quite easy to see by the possible answers for the questions what the outcome of the “compatibility quiz” would be. The quiz could have been summed up in one simple question: Are you a dick to your woman or not? A) Yes. B) No. The guys went through and answered the questions anyway. They even answered for Travis who hadn’t shown up for work yet. The results? Todd and Tyler “B”, Travis “A”.

At about 7am, former Huskers came in studio to sing songs from the musical “Oklahoma”. Jeff Hanson, Cleat Blakeman, Doug Semen, Rob Zatichka, Tim Wurth, Todd Heard, Matt Shaw, Jeff Lake and Kerri the trombone player all came in and performed 2 songs from the musical. After going through several practice sessions, the gang of former Huskers put one down on tape. They sounded pretty good for a bunch of football players. Each person also stepped to the microphone and told TnT what years they played, their position on the team and what they do for a living now. They didn’t have time to go into any in-depth Husker stories because a majority of them had to leave to go to their jobs. TnT replayed the clips of the 2 songs they performed throughout the show. I’m sure we’ll hear it again multiple times tomorrow and on Saturday’s “Best Of” show.

A latecomer to the singing of “Oklahoma” was former Husker Mike Knox. He didn’t get to belt out any tunes but hung out with TnT for a while anyway. Mike happens to be the coach of Todd’s youngest son’s little league football team. He talked with the guys about the kids playing football and shared a few stories about his days as a Husker. Later in the show, a listener called in and told a story about how Mike poured chocolate milk over the head of a Jesus freak on campus when he was attending UNL.

The guys got into a discussion today about famous people buried in Nebraska. A listener e-mailed them a list of such people and the guys went over it for a while. They didn’t dwell on the list for long because, frankly, all the people they were talking about were dead.

The band 3D came in this morning and performed a couple of songs for TnT. They did Motly Crue’s “Same Old Situation” and then did a compilation of Ozzy tunes. They sounded pretty good, albeit a bit echoed but I think that was the effect they were going for. You can catch 3D playing at the Freaker’s Ball on Friday night. They’re also appearing at Rumors in Bellevue tonight and on Saturday.

Paul Slater from the Funny Bone came in and hung out with TnT for a bit. He used to run a comedy club in Buffalo, NY and talked with TnT about how me made the transition from club manager to standup comic. Paul is opening for J Medicine Hat all weekend so stop by the Bone to check him out. Call 493-8036 for reservations.

Towards the end of the show, the guys got a call from a lady who dubbed herself “the Masturbation Queen”. She sounded pretty skanky and came across as rather incoherent. She was basically begging for sex from anyone who would listen. Shortly after her hideous call, TnT got a call from a 23-year-old guy named John who heard the skank’s request for sex. John said he was a virgin and from the sounds of it, he wasn’t the brightest taxi on the show room floor. Donnie toyed with him for a while by placing a phone call as the skank and from the sounds of it, poor John fell for it hook, line and sinker. It’s very possible that John’s looking for a woman in a purple dress and clogs driving a green Cavalier in the parking lot of Menards as we speak. Perhaps we’ll get an update from John in the future. He was actually pretty funny to listen to.
