TnT Show 10-30-2000

Monday 10-30-00

Todd and Tyler started off this morning’s show by discussing their weekends. Friday night was the big Freaker’s Ball at the AmeriSports Bar. The guys talked about the evening for a while but didn’t have any embarrassing stories to share as they have had in past years. Todd didn’t look like a drunken Russian woman, he didn’t do the walk of shame as a digitally scrambled hooker and he didn’t end up calling Flave to bed. Tyler didn’t tear off a heating unit in search of the restroom door either. Some things that did happen included the booing of Donnie and Caller 9 while on stage as Mr. & Mrs. Dvany and Todd did get kneed in the crotch by Dawnette from Star 69 after Donnie poured beer down her butt crack and she mistook the act done by Donnie as being one done by Todd.

The Husker spins started early this morning as callers tried to twist Saturday’s loss. Duke, Donnie, Paul, Joe and others attempted to describe various possible combinations that might land Nebraska in the National Championship Game. The guys wanted to hear from people who had actually turned off the game having given up all hope on the Huskers and got a few calls. Lots of Oklahoma fans also checked in to talk about their team’s victory.

The guys spent some time today talking about Vlock the Body Concealer. Over the weekend, the World Herald had an article detailing exactly how Vlock and his buddy concealed the body of his friend’s father. Without going into the details of the murder itself, the guys went over the more humorous adventures of Vlock in his attempt to hide the dead man. The article detailed Vlock’s thwarted attempt by, not only a pipe in the ground, but by empty dumpsters. Later in the show, TnT revisited Vlock’s testimony and had yet another laugh at the expense of the sick Butter Bean looking puke.

When Travis came in, he talked about his trip to Oklahoma to cover the Husker game. He mentioned how he called Lisa Volenek on his way home to get her take on the match-up. Todd and Tyler were interested in how Lisa felt as well so they decided to give her a call this morning. When they got a hold of her, Lisa didn’t sound nearly as disappointed as one would expect. She was, of course, a little bummed out but she sounded as though she’d already gotten over the loss and moved on. The guys didn’t keep Lisa on the phone for too long because she sounded sleepy but it was nice to hear her again.

The Channel 7 Players came in this morning and performed another Halloween Production for Todd and Tyler. Rob McCartney, John Shoots, Julie Cornell and Bill Ramby all took on rolls in a radio drama called “Devil Hands”. The four, with sound effect help and occasional voice work from Todd and Tyler, spent around an hour performing the excellent radio play. I won’t detail the storyline of the production but will say that it was yet another stellar performance by the Channel 7 Players. After the play was completed, TnT spent some time talking to Julie and Bill about their upcoming baby. They even thanked them for not exploiting the pregnancy like another station in down did a while ago. Perhaps Donnie will re-run “Devil Hands” on Saturday’s “Best Of” show. If you missed it today, it would be worth tuning in on Saturday for the repeat.

Tonight, Todd and Tyler will be at the Arena Sports Bar for another installment of Monday Night Football. This evening’s match-up, as touted by the TV folks, is yet another in a series of “Super Bowl Preview games”. Stop on out to the Arena tonight and hang out with Todd and Tyler. Tomorrow will most likely be another “Hang Over Tuesday” show so make sure to tune in from 5:30 to 10am. Thanks for watching. Good night. –Corby-
