Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning talking about last night’s election. They discussed the mix up in Florida and, after a call or two, concluded that Eilian Gonzalez was counting the votes and that’s the reason for the problem. 416 was voted in and the guys didn’t have too much to say about that, although they were clearly disappointed in the state. They also talked about how their buddy Lee Terry won his election but didn’t call them at any point during the campaign. They seemed bummed about that and figured Lee just didn’t think he needed the support of the TnT listeners. The guys talked about who and what they voted for and against for a little bit as well.

Donnie is getting married over the weekend and, all morning long, TnT made references to the wedding being a “shotgun wedding”. Donnie seemed a bit mad at TnT a few times during the show and claimed that the wedding was not a shotgun wedding. The guys discussed Donnie’s honeymoon plans, which involve a hotel stay here in Omaha and a plane trip to Indianapolis to watch the Colts play on Sunday night. For a while, Donnie, Todd and Tyler tried to figure out some way to word a sign that would include a reference to ESPN as well as Todd and Tyler. After trying to figure out a few old Colts references to put on the sign and exactly how to work in the ESPN letters with “Todd-N-Tyler”, they seemed to have figured it out. It’s too bad that Donnie’s seats will require him to duck each time the Blimp comes around otherwise maybe his sign would actually get shown on TV.

Discussion of Donnie’s honeymoon lead to calls and talk about “lame honeymoons.” TnT tried to get a hold of General Jim who took his wife to a Packers game for their honeymoon years ago. They instead spoke to his wife Amy. She told the guys about their honeymoon and admitted she wasn’t impressed with it at the time. Todd and Tyler really got a kick out of that. From there, the guys took calls throughout the show from listeners who wanted to share their own lame honeymoon stories. After hearing some of the calls, an interesting trend seemed to develop. A majority of the people who checked in with bad honeymoons were no longer married.

Larry the Cable Guy checked in today and delivered a commentary on how Hilary Clinton got voted in to office in New York. Stay tuned for more Larry later in the week.

TnT spoke with Arnez J. who will be appearing at the Funny Bone this weekend. They had spoken to him briefly yesterday and asked him to call back later in the show. Arnez didn’t and TnT found out the reason why. His truck was stolen from the parking lot of his office shortly after TnT let him go. He did, however, call back today to talk about his act and his upcoming appearance at the Bone. Arnez said has a clean act with no swearing. He also mentioned that he’s never been to Omaha but is looking forward to his visit. The guys also talked with Arnez about his sports clothing line that is coming out soon. He gave a web site address but when I tested the web site address, it didn’t work. Arnez will be joining TnT in studio on Friday morning so make sure to tune in. Tyler had a big announcement this morning. His girlfriend Becky is pregnant! From the sounds of it, she is due some time in May. Tyler talked about how they had been trying for nearly a year for the baby so when he did find out, it wasn’t under the dreaded “Ahhhh!!” circumstance. They were quite pleased to hear they had a baby on the way. Lots of congratulations calls came in and the guys and their callers spent some time talking about baby names. Tyler even had a book of 35,000 names that he was going through. According to him, however, 34,950 were names for non-Caucasian babies leaving only 50 for him to choose from. Some listeners offered up suggestions for baby names as well. I believe Tyler is set on Ding Bang Utah regardless of the gender of the baby (which he stated they have no plans on finding out ahead of time).

Tyler also had another book titled “What You Can Do For Her When She’s Expecting”. They read through a few of the suggestions the author gave for men to do for their pregnant women. For the most part, the suggestions from the book were cheesy and struck the “Duh” chord. As Donnie suggested, the book could have been titled “Don’t Be A Dick” and consisted of one page with the title written on it.

I’m sure there will be plenty more talk about Tyler and Becky’s baby in future shows so stay tuned for periodic progress reports. Donnie and Caller 9’s wedding and honeymoon will most likely also be mentioned as this week’s shows progress.
