TnT Show 11-22-2000

Wednesday 11-22-00

Todd and Tyler started off this morning’s show with some vasectomy talk. They took some calls from guys who it didn’t work so well for as well as more calls relating to bad vasectomy experiences. They discussed Todd’s procedure a little more and then put off the vasectomy talk until later in the day.

Wacky Packages came up as a topic on the show this morning. They’re the little cards with stickers of phony products that were big in the ‘70s. The guys visited a few eBay auctions that had photos of the stickers and spent some time discussing them as well as their own childhood memories about the stickers. A few callers checked in to talk about the sticker collections they had as well.

University of North Dakota coach Dale Lenon phoned TnT today. He went to high school with Todd and remembered him as the play-by-play radio guy who called the games Dale played in. The guys spent some time talking about his team and their upcoming match-up with the Omaha Mavericks. They also talked about how Dale used to play for UNO’s coach, Pat Burn (I believe is his name), years ago.

TnT spoke with Joe Garner this morning. He’s the author of “And The Fans Roared”. It’s a book/CD that details some of the greatest moments in sports. The book has photos and detailed stories about each of the events and the CD has the actual audio calls from some of the greatest moments in sports history. Todd and Tyler played a few of the audio clips and listened to Joe talk about how he got the rights to the audio and how he put together the book. It was very interesting. The book sounds like a great Christmas gift for any sports fan. You should be able to pick it up at any local bookstore.

Travis came in and did his Lock and Box today. His Lock of the Week is the Vikings on the road tomorrow giving 6 to Dallas. His Box of the Week is the fat Dixie Chick. While discussing the Dixie Chicks, I heard one of the funniest things ever come out of Tyler. He, not being a fan of country music, tried to sing/impersonate a song that the Dixie Chicks sing. It was hilarious! I don’t know why but hearing Tyler’s super hicked-up version of the already-bad-song nearly made me wet the floor.

Mark Gross, headliner at the Funny Bone, joined TnT this morning. He hung out with the guys, talked about his career and his wife for a while and joined in on the topics of the day. Mark’s an incredibly funny guy and you really need to see him at the Funny Bone this weekend. Call the Bone Phone at 493-8036 for reservations. There will be no show on Thursday due to the holiday but you can catch him through the rest of the weekend. Mark also went with Tyler and Todd to the vasectomy so we’ll be able to hear more of Mark when TnT play the clip of the surgery on the air Monday morning.

TnT spoke with Ryan Dunn of MTV’s “Jack Ass” show this morning. They discussed how he got into doing the stupid, wild, crazy, idiotic stunts he’s pulled on the show. Ryan had some great stories to tell about things he’s done on the show as well as when he’s just sitting around with his buddies. TnT tossed a few ideas for future bits for him to do so you might see one of TnT’s suggestions on “Jack Ass” in the near future. Ryan was a pretty funny guy and the concept of the show sounds interesting so check it out if you haven’t already seen it. I believe it airs on MTV on Sunday nights at 9pm.

Well, the last hour of the show was sort of a round-up of all the things that had gone on in the show earlier. TnT’s old news lady Emjay stopped by to wish Todd luck on his vasectomy. Brian Houston (who sat in for Dani) complained about the lack of sex he is getting, there were more calls on the Wacky Packages discussion and Todd’s vasectomy resurfaced.

Tune in on Monday to hear the audio Tyler will have from Todd’s vasectomy. It should be pretty interesting. That’s all for the update today. We’ll see you back here on Monday. Thanks for watching. Good night. –Corby-
