Todd and Tyler started off this morning discussing several items in the news. 50 Omaha bus drivers phoned in sick yesterday leaving hundreds of kids without a ride to school. After talking about it for a bit, TnT speculated that they were all just lazy. There was a news story about a girl in Norfolk who ate 26 Jemson weed seeds and died. The guys talked about the weed and what it does. At one point, someone said that Hunter S. Thompson said it was a horrible drug that caused him to go blind for days; this coming from the same guy who used to inject rocket fuel into his temples.

Mary Ellen Hooper phoned TnT this morning to talk about her visit to the Funny Bone this week. Having not seen Todd and Tyler for a while, she had a lot of catching up to do. She talked about her friendship with Brooke Shields a bit and then went on to tell TnT that she got engaged to her long-term boyfriend who creates models for movies (like the mountains in “Vertical Limit”). No date has been set yet so TnT gave her a hard time about that. Catch her at the Bone this weekend and on Todd and Tyler’s show Friday morning. TnT spoke with Janna Marie Hopp who plays Nancy on the television show “Ed”. She was quite wound up and rambled like a giddy schoolgirl but was still pretty cool with TnT. She spent some time talking about her television career, which included many spots on sitcoms such as “Friends” and “Sienfeld” as well as some films such as “Vision Quest”. Janna Marie then went on to talk about the show “Ed” and the people she works with. “Ed” is moving to Wednesday night so check your local listings if you’d like to catch it.

Larry the Cable Guy phoned Todd and Tyler this morning and delivered a sequel commentary to “Darrell the Pizza Man”. It was very funny and if you missed it, you missed one of Larry’s better contributions in recent weeks. Tune in as the week progresses for more of Larry the Cable Guy and keeping mind that he’ll be appearing at the Funny Bone from 12-26 through 12-31. Dr. Ed came in this morning and spent a few hours with TnT. The guys screened out most of the boring questions leaving only interesting topics for Dr. Ed to elaborate on. There was, as always, a plethora of medical questions tossed at the Doc in which he handled like a slow-pitched softball, knocking them outta the park. Dr. Ed will be joining Todd and Tyler again after they return from Christmas vacation in the first week of January.

Towards the end of the show, TnT got a follow-up call from a lady who called yesterday. She was having a problem with her boyfriend being controlled by his 23-year-old daughter. The caller elaborated further on the story and the events following yesterday’s show. Todd and Tyler tried to offer her more ideas on how to deal with her situation but for the most part, they said she should just dump the guy. My head hurt after her call but I’m just a big, dumb guy easily overwhelmed by information overload. Perhaps we’ll hear another follow-up call again soon.
