Monday 1-8-01

Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning discussing a few things that occurred over the weekend. There were a few football games so TnT delved into the world of Professional Sports chat for a bit, continued later when Travis came in. Also early in the show, TnT spoke with the winner of their $20,000 giveaway, Katie. She told TnT she went out and spent around $2,000 on clothing and said she and her boyfriend are planning a trip to Chicago to blow some more money.

Donnie, Tony and Slave Boy Jeremy are going to be at the Arena Sports Bar tonight for a Monday Night Wrestling party. Todd and Tyler said they would show up to watch the train wreck and feel embarrassed for Donnie. At one point, TnT were going over the script with Donnie and Jeremy. Donnie made a few remarks about Jeremy holding Donnie’s legs over his head while Tony drops his face in Donnie’s crotch. The remarks stuck to the tape and after some prodding by TnT, the clips made it into Tyler’s hot key screen and were repeatedly played throughout the show.

Today was Lady Diekman Day, as declared by Todd and Tyler as a retort to Diekman Day, August 8th. Many female listeners of Todd and Tyler checked in throughout the show to make sure the guys spread the word of the holiday. One woman even had TnT call her husband at work to remind him. Some women who phoned in this morning said that they didn’t give their husbands Diekmans on Diekmans day. TnT both seemed under the impression that if they didn’t give it up, their men shouldn’t either.

Larry the Cable Guy phoned in this morning and delivered a commentary on the People’s Choice Awards that aired last night. He ranted about how “COPS” and not “Survivor” should have won the best Reality TV show category. Stay tuned in this week to hear more from Larry the Cable Guy.

The main topic of this morning’s show centered around redneck apparel. I don’t remember exactly how the subject was brought up, but TnT started talking about hat and t-shirt slogans from truck stops. A ton of calls came in throughout the remainder of the show from listeners admitting to owning the clothes or knowing someone who once had them. There were some very funny sayings mentioned this morning including a hat that said, “What are you looking at, dickface”, a shirt with two hand-shaking piles of crap reading, “Get your S-bomb together” and a t-shirt with an arrow pointing to the crotch that read, “Built-in Breathalyzer”. There were so many different slogans mentioned that TnT didn’t start getting repeats until the last hour or so of the show. The discussion even took a tangent or two when some listeners phoned in to talk about shirts they wore that got them sent home from school or kicked out of restaurants.

Tonight, join Donnie out at the Arena Sports Bar for the first Monday Night Wrestling party. He’s going to be wrestling Tony and Slave Boy Jeremy in a hardcore match. Todd and Tyler are going to be there for a bit to do a little play by play (they’ve got the script). This event, as always, will only further to embarrass all associated with Donnie.
