| Straight Pimpin ![]() | TnT Show 01-09-2001 Tuesday 1-9-01 Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning with a little reaction from Donnie’s wrestling match that took place last night at the Arena Sports Bar. The event, titled something along the lines of, “The Final Embarrassment 2: This Time It’s Personal” pitted Donnie against Slave Boy Jeremy and regular caller Tony. From the sounds of it, all went well and Donnie retained his belt. Todd even seemed to have a good time watching Donnie make a fool of himself but did mention that the wresting on top of the televised wrestling he was subjected to after Donnie’s event sucked the IQ right out of him. He seemed to have recovered well and was back in full swing this morning. Also very early in the show, TnT played two hate calls they received over the weekend. The calls were made by the same guy about a half hour apart in the wee AM hours of Sunday morning. TnT played the calls throughout the show, even isolating their favorite parts and hot-buttoning them. For the day, Todd and Tyler turned into “Pie Face” and “Dick Nose”, Todd being the first, Tyler the latter. As the show moved on, TnT continually referred to the phone calls and seemed to thoroughly enjoy making fun of the idiot caller. I’m sure you’ll hear clips from the calls tomorrow if you happen to have missed today’s show. Katie, the winner of Todd and Tyler’s $20,000 giveaway stopped in with her fiancé, Tim, this morning. She talked with the guys about how she’s going to spend her winnings and joked about having already taken back some of the clothing she bought because she felt guilty. Katie said that she’d check back with TnT in a week or two after she spends more of her winnings. Last night on “Dateline”, there was a story about a woman who wrote a book called http://www.surrenderedwife.com/” target=blank>“The Surrendered Wife”. During Dani’s newscast, she mentioned the story and talked briefly about the book’s author, Laura Doyle. At that point, the show seemed to center around discussing various ideas from the book, things seen on “Dateline” and relationship issues in general. Some of the issues discussed included nagging, time and “honey-do” lists. Women, in general, tend to nag their men which makes men upset because their wives/girlfriends end up sounding like the man’s mother. The whole “mom factor” in a relationship can really screw things up. The whole issue with time is that women and men have their own timeframe for things. If a woman, in general once again, asks her man to do something and he puts it off until he’s ready to do it, it causes problems. This also relates to the concept of the “honey-do” list where a woman will leave her man with a “honey, do this or that” list and expects him to complete everything on the list regardless of the man’s idea of how he’s going to spend his time. Also relating to the time factor came discussions about different work schedules and who in a relationship has time to complete what objectives. Todd and Tyler discussed several personal experiences in their own relationships related to the issues of the morning. At one point, Tyler’s fiancé, Becky, called in. Tyler was talking about the time differences and the “honey-do” lists and thought it might be a good idea to tell Becky what he was saying before she heard it second or third hand. Becky listened to the discussion and talked about the difficulties she has getting Tyler to do things she wants him to like calling about a broken ice maker, getting a hold of the security alarm folks, getting to the bank to refinance a mortgage and several other things she has been waiting for him to take care of. After a few minutes, Becky phoned back and seemed like she was a little more pissy than during their first chat. Tyler then told her he would do the things she asked him to do. General Jim and Travis joined in on the conversation as well. General Jim had is wife up on the roof cleaning gutters recently so it’s clear who runs the show in that home and Travis, well, Travis has his wife retile the bathroom floor in their old home! Surprisingly, though, Travis admitted that his wife handles everything in their home. He said he hasn’t folded laundry in 2 years and hasn’t written a check in 3 years! Speaking of checks, another issue that came up throughout the show relating to relationships was who takes care of the finances. Tyler said he could never give up being in control of the money. Todd, if memory serves me correct, didn’t say much about it because of his current divorce situation. Donnie said he’s a money retard, having gotten three checkbooks taken away. One listener, regular caller Lisa, phoned the show and actually took the Surrendered Woman quiz over the air with Todd and Tyler. Initially she said that when she watched the show last night, she saw herself doing many of the things the “test patient” woman was doing before going through the program. TnT read Lisa the list, giving her the options to chose from and then scored her. At the end, she had fallen into the highest category of “shrewness”. Late in the show, JP came in and played a call she got after yesterday’s TnT show. If you’ll recall, TnT got a phone call from a guy who was mad at them for talking about dirty t-shirts on the air. He dropped the f-bomb and hung up on them (it was late in the show). Well, they played the follow-up call that JP recorded in which the guy twisted off the religion throck all over TnT, saying he’d pray for them and so on, and so forth. It was rather humorous. Well, that’s it for the update today. Check back tomorrow for the Wednesday version. Donnie mentioned something about a sports-related guest and TnT will get a phone call from Funny Bone comedian Uncle Lar. Tune in from 5:30 to 10am and then check back here in the afternoon for the update. Thanks for watching. Good night. –Corby-
