| Straight Pimpin ![]() | TnT Show 01-12-2001 1-12-01 Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning talking about the Creighton game they went to last night. They also talked about last night’s investigative report on how the garbage guys are tossing in recyclable stuff with the regular trash. Also an item of discussion during the early portion of the show was that of the funky urine-like smell hovering over various parts of town over the past few days. The guys spent a great deal of time this morning discussing going to therapy. Todd mentioned he’s going to see his doctor on Saturday. He hasn’t been in a while and figured he’d drop by for a “Everything is fine” visit. Donnie expressed his opinion on therapy, saying that it wasn’t necessary and people should just deal with life. He then went on to complain about people who visit the doctor/therapist for no reason and said that’s why his insurance bill is always so high. Todd went on to say that he thought everyone should be in some form of therapy and proceeded to try to convince Donnie to see someone. Donnie didn’t sound even remotely interested. As the therapy conversation continued, the guys started taking calls from listeners with therapy stories to share. Anti-depressant drugs started to get mentioned and questions were raised on what the various ones are supposed to do. Tyler spent a little time talking about being on Prozac for a while back in 1993. He didn’t take them for long so he didn’t really have the ability to talk about the drug’s effect. Later, Travis came in and discussed taking herbal capsules that are supposed to have a similar effect. Uncle Lar from the Funny Bone came in and hung out with TnT for the last half of the show. He joined in on the topics of the day and seemed to enjoy his time with the guys. Frankly, there’s not too much to detail about Lar’s visit to the show. He just talked with TnT as if one of the boys. He’s incredibly funny and I strongly urge you to catch his act this weekend. Call the Bone Phone at 493-8036 for reservations. Todd and Tyler’s annual Christmas party is taking place tomorrow night. As we all know, TnT both feel that the people who work for the radio station, regardless of what part of the cluster, hate them. In an attempt to get prepared to have a good time at this year’s Holiday party, the guys decided they’d play Meet the Staff. Over the intercom, the guys paged anyone who hasn’t met TnT to come to their studio. After 3 pages, no one had shown up. At that point, Todd paged again and said something to the effect of, “Attention staff members, screw you all.” After some further discussion about how they don’t know anyone in the office, they finally started to get a few visitors. Brett, a 4 month employee, stopped in to say hi. Later a hottie named Lisa who has been with the station for 3 weeks came in followed by a guy named Ryan on his 6th week of employment. They all seemed cool and even said they actually listen to TnT’s show. One of the cooler people from the office who visited TnT was a guy named Jose. He’s the morning man on 1420, the Latino station owned by Journal. He came in and hung out with TnT for a bit. They discussed the music played on 1420, which included reasons why no one likes Los Lobos and how everyone in the Latino world thinks Ricky Martin’s a big pipe smoker. Jose also talked about his family and how long he’s been in the US. For fun, TnT played Jose their version of “Living Lavita Homo”. He really seemed to get a kick out of it. It’s possible, for all of you Spanish speaking fans, you may hear TnT’s song on 1420 soon. Well, that’s it for the update today. Make sure you check out the Uncle Lar show over the weekend. I’ll be at the early show on Friday. Tune in on Monday for another update. Thanks for watching. Good night. –Corby-
