| Straight Pimpin ![]() | TnT Show 01-18-2001 Thursday 1-18-01 Todd and Tyler started off the show this morning by discussing last nights “Temptation Island” that aired on FOX. “West Wing” was a rerun so Tyler flipped over to check the show out. From the sounds of it, he didn’t like it at all. He talked about how both he and Becky said they’d never put themselves in that sort of situation because they just wouldn’t be able to not cheat. That seemed to be the general consensus of everyone who phoned in as well. Also early in the show, Todd mentioned that his divorce was finalized as of yesterday but there is about a month waiting period before it’s finally finalized to finality. Another topic that sprang up early in the show was that of eating raccoons and other strange animals. Truthfully, I can’t recall exactly how the topic came about. One minute they’re talking about whores on TV and the next, they’re talking about people who eat road kill and cover beaver ass in BBQ sauce. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. Those sort of odd twists in the show come about daily and keep it interesting. Anyway, the guys spent some time talking about strange animals people eat. They took lots of calls on the subject as people checked in to tell TnT about the weird animals they’ve indulged in. Some of them were sick to think about while others sounded interesting. I think I’ll stick to eating a slab of cow over the ass-end of a Hippo penis. Huh?? I confused myself there, too. Okay, before we go any further in the update I’d like to warn you that the remainder of the show was filled with guests. I think Todd and Tyler set a record this morning by having 6 different guests in various forms joining them on unrelated issues. Okay, lets move on. Lancer coach Mike Hastings phoned Todd and Tyler today and spent some time talking sports with the guys. The Lancers just had an incredible winning streak broken. In the last 10 games, they’ve won 9. The guys discussed the team, their victories and their recent loss and then moved on to discuss some football issues. Mike’s a big Vikings fan like Todd so the two consoled each other about the Viking’s recent ass waxing. Mike also talked a little bit about the second half of the hockey season and mentioned that they’ll be playing at home a lot more often now. Gary Java came in studio this morning to talk about the Omaha Beef with Todd and Tyler. Some of you might know Gary from his work with another local radio station. He’s sense been fired from there and moved on to work with the Beef’s promotions department. Now that he doesn’t have the big, red thumb of Husker radio pinning him down, Todd and Tyler offered Gary the chance to send a couple of verbal scuds to his former employers. Gary got off a quick shot or two, discussing sports in general and joining in on the other topics of the day. He also filled TnT in on a plethora of Omaha Beef related issues including tickets and tryouts. He was promoting a new CD or website or something. He spent some time talking with TnT about the phone calls he makes, discussed doing voices for “The Family Guy” on FOX and a bunch of other things he’s been doing sense the Jerky Boys got big. It was a pretty cool interview even if you’re not a big fan of prank phone calls. If you want the CD, call 1-888-359-1111 or visit www.laugh.com” target=blank>www.laugh.com or http://www.jerkyboys.com” target=blank>www.jerkyboys.com. Todd and Tyler interviewed John Tesh this morning. John was calling to promote his new CD called “Pure Orchestra”. After the plug got out of the way, TnT moved on to talk with John about more interesting things like Klingons and Lifetime movies. They spent some time talking about his time on “Entertainment Tonight” and discussed his hot wife. John even talked about how he and Ryan Styles of “Who’s Line Is It Anyway” and “The Drew Carey” show screw with Tim Alan at their children’s daycare facility. Hearing that John recites “Galaxy Quest” lines to Tim in order to annoy him was just a funny visual. I was pleasantly surprised in how well the conversation went. Frankly when you think of John Tesh, the phrase “funny guy” doesn’t come to mind, but John was genuinely funny and really seemed to get a kick out of Todd and Tyler. Maybe they’ll speak with him again in the future. Patrick Spring from the Funny Bone came in this morning and hung out with TnT. He’s going to be opening for Tommy Chong at the Funny Bone this weekend. Patrick joined in on the topics of the day and hung out for a while. He used to live in Nebraska but moved somewhere in the south to be with his wife. Consequently, he’s developed an odd sounding southern accent that Todd and Tyler had a good time joking with him about. Call the Bone Phone at 493-8036 for reservations. 3 Day Meat Sale came in studio this morning and played a couple of songs for Todd and Tyler. They sounded great! You can catch them doing a benefit for the Nebraska Aids Project on Sunday night right around 6pm. The cost to enter is only $10 and that includes a dinner and the entertainment of 3 bands. Unfortunately, I missed the phone number and location of the event due to a battery meltdown in my Walk-Man and by the time the situation was resolved, there wasn’t any more mention of the event. Well, that’s it for the update today. It was a guest-packed show! Tune in tomorrow when Todd and Tyler will be joined by everyone’s favorite stoner Tommy Chong. Thanks for watching. Good night. –Corby-
