TnT Show 02-08-2001

Thursday 2-8-01

Todd and Tyler started off the show this morning by discussing last night’s dodge ball game against the Central High School faculty. In the first two games, there was a little confusion over the rules and Central High won. After that, the contest became much closer. The final count, including the first two games of confusion, put Central High School at 6 wins, the Todd and Tyler Traveling All Stars at 4 wins. Keep in mind that without those first two games of confusing rules, the Todd and Tyler Traveling All Stars would have tied Central High and inevitably beat them in OT. The guys took lots of calls from people who played in the game and those who just attended. Everyone seemed to have a great time and all who phoned in that participated gave reports of being quite sore. Later in the show, Tony and Flave were suspended from the next game due to fighting and giving the finger, respectively. I’m sure they’ll be allowed to play in Underwood next week, however.

TnT’s comedy friend Vilmos phoned them this morning. He was supposed to perform at the Funny Bone this weekend but he opted to watch the weather channel with his 85-year-old father instead. He talked to TnT about his dad and spent some time reminiscing about the past. I’m sure we’ll here more of Vilmos soon enough so stay tuned.

Donnie came in this morning and told a story about bad service last night. After the dodge ball game, he and Sean Gnant from the Funny Bone stopped by a local fast food restaurant for some chow. He said he ordered an iced tea but when he pulled up to the window, the guy who took his order was pouring his drink from what looked to be a coffee pot. The worker handed Donnie his drink and then went back to getting the rest of his order ready. When Donnie sipped the liquid, he found that it was old, cold coffee. He asked for the manager, lodged a complaint and then was awarded a free meal. TnT gave Donnie a hard time about his complaint, saying that the only reason he pitched a fit was to get free food. It was a rather humorous argument that resurfaced several times throughout the show. The guys even took a few calls from listeners who had opinions to share on the discussion. In the end, it was determined that Donnie’s a cheap ass that likes to get fast food Corky’s in trouble.

TnT spoke with Jan Carl from “Entertainment Tonight”. She discussed a variety of topics with TnT from people she’s interviewed to interviews gone wrong. They discussed the show itself as well as some of the famous people “Entertainment Tonight” covers. Jan also talked about her career in general and her days in college in Missouri. TnT asked her if she was hit on by Michael Scott when he worked there but she said she hadn’t. Charlie Sheen, on the other hand, has hit on her before. During the discussion, TnT found out that Jan has an old college friend who lives in town. TnT tried to call her but got a machine and had to leave her a message. Jan was incredibly cool and very entertaining. She seemed to enjoy her time with TnT as much as they liked talking with her. Perhaps we’ll here from her again in the future. Todd and Tyler will, for sure, be speaking to a few other “Entertainment Tonight” people in the coming weeks so keep tuned.

Ahzeem and Sean Gnant from the Funny Bone came in and hung out with TnT for a while. Ahzeem’s a Muslim guy so TnT spent some time discussing various aspects of being a Muslim with him. The two comic guests also joined in on the other topics of the day and seemed to enjoy their time on the TnT show. Catch them at the Funny Bone this weekend by calling 493-8036.

Todd and Tyler got a call from the 18-year-old girl who wrote the letter to the paper about the possibility of a Nebraska Anti-Smoking law. They explained to her why they thought her letter came across as “stupid” and spent some time discussing the anti-smoking law to her. After the call, they continued the chatter with their comic guests. TnT also got into a big discussion about taxes after someone e-mailed them griping about something. They had quite an intellectual discussion about the whole tax thing. Brian and Travis provided the Republican point of view, TnT offered up the Democratic, more liberal perspective, Ahzeem gave the brother/Muslim perspective and Donnie and Sean Gnant gave the glazed-over eyes point of view.

Well, that’s all I’ve got for the update today. Check back tomorrow for the Friday version. Thanks for watching. Good night. –Corby-
