Monday 2-12-01

Todd and Tyler started off the show today by announcing that tonight’s dodge ball game in Underwood has been cancelled due to a rescheduled basketball game. Their next game is going to be at West Harrison High in Mondamin, IA on Feb. 22nd. Also early in the show, the guys spent some time talking about “Hannibal”. Tyler saw the movie over the weekend and said he enjoyed it. Todd said he hadn’t seen it yet but has heard only bad reviews about the film. Several times throughout the show, most likely due to caffeine overload, Donnie did his awful Jody Foster impersonation from “Silence of the Lambs”. Yes, it was awful but it made me laugh so I thought I’d at least mention it here.

The guys spent some time talking about their weekends today. A friend informed Tyler that some people at a bar were talking bad about the TnT show. Neither of the hosts seemed to mind as long as people were talking about the show, good or bad. Brian and Travis also had a story about overhearing people talking about them. The two were out last night to see a band and overheard the waitresses whispering about their table after they had gotten Travis’s name from his credit card. Speaking of Travis, TnT spent a little more time discussing Trav’s facial hair.

Larry the Cable Guy phoned in a commentary this morning about how high school kids never smile. His commentary was sparked by recent “letter of intent” signing photos from the paper. TnT attempted to do some trained counseling this morning. The first guy who phoned for help was cryptic, incoherent and a darned good example of de-evolution. The second caller on the subject tried to explain what the first guy’s problem was but he, too, was not understandable. It was pretty funny. Later, TnT got a call from a man who said that his girlfriend was trying to get him to combine checking accounts with her. Later the caller mentioned that his girlfriend also wanted him to sign over ownership of his vehicle to her. After that, TnT took lots of reaction calls from listeners about the financial aspects of relationships. Some callers touted that combining finances works fine while others disagreed. It was an interesting discussion. Normally when TnT talk about relationships, the questions from listeners always seem to revolve around sex. Today, however, money, the other main reason people break up, was examined more closely.

Doug Semen was the Todd and Tyler Carl Jarl Dumbass of the Day. TnT phoned the fine folks at Carl Jarl and helped out their favorite ex-Husker.

Tomorrow TnT are going to send their buddy Stink Bait Jake out and about to deliver a little Valentine’s Day love. The guys are putting a little spin on it, of course, and sending Stink Bait to a few of their listener’s ex-boyfriends or ex-girlfriends homes/jobs. It should make for interesting radio so tune in early.

TnT mentioned this year’s Broken Hearts Ball will take place on Wednesday at the Players Club on 84th and Park Drive, near the old Pinky’s. Cheshire Grin will be providing the entertainment and TnT will host the event. Listen tomorrow for further details.
