Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning by talking about how fed up they’ve become with “happy news”. They’ve noticed that a majority of time spent on a regular 30-minute news broadcast before 6pm is filled with happy news stories, health related news stories and worthless, Nostradomis-like weather guessing. “Give me news” and “Is that news?” were two phrases TnT uttered several times during their discussion, and rightfully so, I might add. Also an early topic on the show today was how the MUD is going to be shutting off gas to 5,600 residents for failure to pay their gas bills. TnT seemed to have a bit more sympathy for the unfortunate people who will be losing their heat than Donnie did. Of course, Donnie weasels free meals from fast food chains and steals bags full of ice melter from Wal-Mart; take that into consideration.

TnT spent a little time discussing a web site they found that listed a bunch of television shows and asked which ones you’d want to kill. To change things around for Love Week they decided to make a game out of it in which they’d talk about who, on various TV shows, they’d like to nail (rather than kill as the web site suggests). Well, after some discussion of a few rather obscure televison shows, the guys got on the topic of that smash senior hit, “The Golden Girls”. They discussed which of the ladies they’d like to knock walkers with most and, surprisingly, there was some discrepancy among the show. It seemed that Todd and Tyler both thought the actress playing Blanch was the hottest. That was rather obvious considering she’s slutty (so Tyler would dig her) and also, she’s old and very Madeline Albright-like, which, as we all know, would turn Todd’s motor. Donnie, on yet another brain-melting caffeine high, said he’d do the old, decrepit lady, Estelle Getty.

During their discussion about “The Golden Girls”, the guys phoned Tyler’s dad. Ed is a big fan of the show so they thought they’d get his perspective on which of the old hags was the hottest. Ed said that he’d pick Betty White. When asked why he chose her, Ed’s response was classic. “Cuz she’s dumb and I could probably talk her into anything.”

Todd and Tyler’s old friend Michael Scott spoke with TnT for a bit today. He’s working in Dallas/Ft. Worth now doing a morning TV show there. TnT talked about his job and schedule and touched on some health-related issues he’s had recently, mainly the couple of “minor strokes” that put him in the hospital before Christmas. Michael said he’s doing better now and is trying to take better care of himself.

During the conversation with Michael, TnT spoke with Bob Gowen from Entertainment Tonight. Michael Scott and Bob Gowen used to work with each other back when Michael was on E.T. In fact, they shared an office. The orgy of voices chitchatted for a while about Entertainment Tonight and then Michael Scott let TnT get into their interview with Bob. They talked about a plethora of topics pertaining to Entertainment Tonight including the Oscar nominations announced today and some behind-the-scenes stuff at the show. Bob was a pretty cool guy and seemed to enjoy his time with TnT.

To help their listeners celebrate the upcoming Valentine’s Day, TnT sent their buddy Stink Bait out this morning to send Valentine’s Day greetings to a few ex’s of their listeners. Stink Bait Jake presented listener Heidi’s ex-boyfriend, Scott, with some flowers and a smelly greeting. TnT spoke with Scott on the phone and explained the reason he received the stinky holiday greeting from his ex-girlfriend. Later in the show, Stink Bait Jake struck again when he delivered more flowers and skankiness to listener Tanya’s ex-boyfriend Keith. TnT spoke with Keith as well but he didn’t seem nearly as receptive to the gift and olfactory abuse as the first guy. TnT might be sending Stink Bait Jake out again tomorrow so stay tuned.

Carl Banks from the Funny Bone came in and hung out with TnT. He spent some time talking with the guys about his career. He’s waiting to hear from the people behind Jamie Fox’s new sketch comedy series to see if he has a roll on the show. Carl joined in on the topics of the day and did what pretty much every comedian does when the hang with TnT, just go with the flow. You can catch Carl at the Funny Bone starting tomorrow night. Well, that’s the update for today. Keep in mind that the Broken Hears Ball is taking place tomorrow night at the Players Club on 84th and Park Drive near where the old Pinky’s was.
