| Straight Pimpin ![]() | TnT Show 02-16-2001 Friday 2-16-01 Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning by playing a song that was sent to them by a listener. The song was called, “Bill”, and seemed to be about that ultra religious guy who phones TnT once in a while to yell at them and call them the Devil. The guys, of course, poked a little fun at the song because of a few bad rhymes but seemed to enjoy it overall. The guy who produced the song, Tony phoned in and chatted with TnT about his creation. He seemed to get a kick out of TnT’s jokes regarding his musical talent. TnT spent a little time early in today’s show resetting an idea they had late in yesterday’s show about a naked wedding. Todd and Tyler wanted to find a couple willing to come in studio, get naked and be married by Donnie. A listener named Tony phoned in and said he’d be willing to do it but TnT would have to call his girlfriend to see if she’d be willing to participate. When TnT got a hold of her, Christy, they explained the situation. She was hesitant to begin with and even more so when she found out about the naked part. Her boyfriend tried to talk her into it but didn’t seem to do a very good job. By the end of the call, the idea seemed to have failed with that couple. TnT left an open invitation for any other couple willing to participate to phone in at any time. The guys spent some time this morning discussing the image of Omaha. I guess someone was recently brought into town to help the city brainstorm ideas for a motto or slogan that Omaha could use to try to entice conventions to come to town once the new Arena and convention center is finished. TnT came up with their own ideas for phrases that the town could use. Many listeners phoned, faxed and e-mailed suggestions to them as well. After about an hour, TnT shut down the topic because some of the suggestions coming in were pretty bad. Larry the Cable Guy phoned in today and gave a commentary on Clinton’s office in Harlem. The commentary was full of references to various rap and R&B stars. Tune in for more from Larry next week. A few of the Omaha Beef’s Prime Dancers, Alison, Jesse and Sarah came by this morning to hang out with TnT for a bit. They were there to promote tonight’s tryout for their male counterparts taking place at Boondockers. After discussing tonight’s event, the ladies joined Big Pussy in the Chub and went to the QT up the road from the station. There, they were going to offer listeners the chance to stop by and audition. Once they arrived, a few guys showed up to try out. Unfortunately, the CD player on the Chub wasn’t working, none of the Prime Dancer ladies who manned the phone were listening to TnT and to top it off, they called from one of those terrible digital phones so everything was a bit Darth Vader-like. After a while, the ladies came back to the studio to remind everyone that signup is from 5 to 6pm and the tryout will actually begin somewhere around 6:30. I believe 3D is also playing at Boondockers tonight so if you’re a big fat guy, swing on by and try out. Carl Banks from the Funny Bone came in this morning. He joined in on the topics of the day. Carl also spent a little time talking with the guys about his television career. There really isn’t too much more to say about Carl’s visit other than he seemed more interested in the Prime Dancers than anything else. TnT had to remind him several times that he was there to do a radio show. Check him out at the Funny Bone all weekend. Call 493-8036 for reservations. TnT spoke with David X. Cowen today. He’s the brains behind FOX’s hit animated show, “Futurama”. He spent some time talking about how he got his start with “The Simpsons” and then moved on to discuss his current show. David also knew Carl Banks from high school so the two chatted about that for a while. David offered up quite a bit of interesting detail about behind-the-scenes stuff that happens at “The Simpsons” and “Futurama”. Todd and Tyler had a conversation with David Alan Base of the new show, “Three Sisters”. He talked about the new sitcom, the actors and writers he works with and a few other things with TnT. He seemed like a pretty likable guy. There’s really not much more to say about the interview. Well, that’s it for the update today. Check back here on Monday for another one. Thanks for watching. Good night. –Corby-
