| Straight Pimpin ![]() | TnT Show 02-19-2001 Monday 2-19-01 Todd and Tyler started off the show by talking about Earnhardt’s death this weekend on the last lap of the Daytona 500 race. The TV sports guy’s coverage of the accident came up as the guys talked about some of the horrible segways that were used to tie in the Earnhardt death to the sports guy’s next story. After they had discussed it for a bit, a few callers checked in with some jokes regarding the accident. TnT really didn’t dwell on it because they had other things to discuss. Well, a few listeners, however, thought TnT were making fun of the guy’s death and phoned the show to complain. TnT then had to settle them down by explaining that the callers who phoned in the jokes were to blame and that they, themselves, weren’t the ones making fun of the dead guy. Afterwards, they continued discussing other items in the news that happened over the weekend including the bombing of Baghdad. TnT both went out of town over the weekend and spent a little time discussing each of their experiences. Todd and his girlfriend went to Arizona where they spent some time hiking, golfing and going to baseball games. Todd relayed a story about his rumbling abdomen and the vicious fart that escaped him in his sleep on the plane trip home. Tyler flew back to PA to surprise his dad for his father’s birthday. He said he nearly gave his dad a heart attack when he showed up. Tyler also said that he and some of his buddies got kicked out of a bar while he was back home and, at one point in the trip, his dad was attempting to go to bed after a night of celebratorial birthday drinking when he had a mishap. Poor Ed missed the bed and ended up doing a header to the floor dressed only in his tighty whiteys so Tyler had to help him into bed. Donnie participated in an OWA wrestling/kickboxing event this weekend. He came in studio and talked about the event for a while. TnT gave him a hard time for participating in the “back yard wrestling” but Donnie didn’t seem to mind. It’s nothing he hasn’t heard before. TnT started their Vegas Trip qualifying this morning by playing a few clips from today’s movie. In order to win a spot on the party plane, you must listen to Todd and Tyler each morning when they will announce that day’s Vegas-related movie. The guys will play an audio clip or two of the film along with discussing the movie for a while. Then, later in the day, listen for the sounds of a slot machine. Once you hear it, be the 92nd caller and you’ll win the trip. They’ll be doing this for the next 4 weeks so stay tuned. TnT spoke with Emily Proctor this morning. She’s on the NBC hit show, “The West Wing”. She spent some time talking with TnT about how she, a conservative republican girl from North Carolina, got the gig on the show playing a conservative republican girl from North Carolina. She also detailed a few behind-the-scenes things relating to how the show is written. Later in the discussion, TnT talked with her about her time as a TV weather girl. Todd geeked out completely and asked Emily her opinion on the importance of the dew point. When I awoke from my temporary coma, they were finishing up their dew point discussion and wrapping up the interview in general. Emily was very cool and sounded like she really had a good time talking to the guys. Tune in to “The West Wing” on Channel 6 on Wednesday nights at 9pm. Todd and Tyler spent some time this morning discussing their upcoming dodge ball game taking place at the West Harrison high school in Mondamin, IA on Thursday night. Someone sent the guys a link to the high school’s web page where all of their opponents were pictured and listed. TnT went down the list and began to feel confident about the Todd and Tyler Traveling Dodge Ball All Star’s chances of pulling off a sweeping victory, as the West Harrison team seemed to be filled with old, decrepit teachers. A few callers checked in and ran a little smack at TnT but, for the most part, it was Todd, Tyler and Donnie who were dishing out the most smack today. Towards the end of the show, Matthew Sweet joined TnT in studio. Matthew, a Lincoln guy, made it big in the music scene a few years ago and has been touring ever sense. He spent some time talking to TnT about how he got into music and also discussed the state of the record industry today. TnT had lots of interesting questions for Matthew regarding his recording career and touring. He answered all the guys questions and seemed to enjoy his time with TnT. You can catch him playing at the Ranch Bowl tonight. The doors will open at 8pm and he’ll go on stage sometime shortly after 10. The cost of admission is only $12 so make sure you get on out to see him. Well, that’s all I’ve got for the Monday update. Check back here tomorrow for the Tuesday version. Thanks for watching. Good night. –Corby-
