| Straight Pimpin ![]() | TnT Show 03-01-2001 Thursday 3-1-01 Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning by playing a song that was recorded last night by the Freak. The song was about how much Earnhardt meant to the caller and was set to the tune of “Puff the Magic Dragon.” The lyrics were less than stellar and you could tell the guy was searching for rhymes. The guys played the song throughout the entire show and, at one point, they made up their own words for the song. They also took a hate call from a listener who was upset at them for playing the song. The man seemed to be angrier at the media’s coverage of Earnhardt’s death than he was at TnT. Also late in the show, a listener phoned TnT and said that they lyrics the man used in the song actually came from a poem an Earnhardt fan had written on one of the Nascar web sites. Also a big topic in the early portion of the show was the President’s visit to Omaha yesterday. Joe from Blue House called in with his tale of the event, which seemed to be crafted in his head. Listener Karen checked in as well with her point of view of the President’s visit. TnT discussed the poor media coverage of GW’s Omaha stop and how local TV stations were reaching for interesting points of view. Yesterday’s Vegas trip winner was a guy named Jason. His brother won one of the Vegas trips earlier in the week so TnT spoke with him about that. Jason said he’s going to take his wife with him and they’re both Vegas veterans. The guys also played a clip from today’s Vegas movie and spent a little time talking about the film. Todd and Tyler spent some time this morning discussing the evolution of relationships. They’d received an e-mail from a listener who wanted their advice on how he should approach his girlfriend with the “lets be exclusive” subject. The guys really didn’t have a definitive answer for the e-mailer because, in both of their cases, exclusivity was pretty much just an understood thing. During the discussion Brian talked about how he and his wife first got hooked up. As he went into his story, TnT found out that Brian dated his wife for 8 months before having sex with her. He also lived with his now-wife for many months before getting married but they slept in different bedrooms! That floored TnT so as you can imagine, the guys spent some time probing Brian’s brain to figure out how and why that happened. TnT tried to call Brian’s wife all morning long to get her perspective on the odd start to their relationship but were unable to get a hold of her. Then, in one of the most interesting twists of the discussion, TnT got a call from an anonymous female listener. She started her call by saying, questioningly, “8 months Brian?” and then said, “It didn’t even take me that long to get into her pants.” Before the guys could question her about her comments, she’d hung up. Brian seemed a bit shocked and curious as to what the caller meant but because the guys didn’t have the caller’s name and couldn’t get a hold of Brian’s wife, no further details were made available. Todd and Tyler also discussed an article in Cosmo somewhat related to the subject. The article was about “tough love” questions. They took a few calls but seemed to spend a majority of the time discussing various relationship aspects amongst themselves. The callers just weren’t with it today for some reason. After months, if not years, of wanting to speak with him, TnT finally got a call from former Husker football player Matt Davison this morning. Matt used to intern with Travis and Travis has been telling TnT he’d get Matt on the phone for a very long time. Now that Matt’s finishing up school and no longer playing football, he called the show. I guess he felt a bit safer calling TnT when he knew there was no way for him to get in trouble by the University for talking to Todd and Tyler. The guys spoke with him about his time with the Huskers and discussed the poster in which he and Scott Frost are selling of the Miracle Kick in Missouri. TnT wanted to know why Shevan Wiggins wasn’t being cut in on the poster cash but Matt wouldn’t comment. He skirted the issue by simply saying that he hasn’t seen Shevan in quite a while. With a May graduation coming up, TnT talked with Matt about his plans to try out for the NFL. If all goes well for him, we could be seeing him on a professional team next season. Towards the end of the show, TnT got a call confirming that they will have a tanning bed coming to their studio soon. The fine folks at Cuts and Such are loaning TnT a tanning bed to help rid them of their Seasonal Affect Disorder. The guys might have some of their Vegas trip winners come in and use the tanning bed and also said that any woman (preferably hot) could come in and tan nude in their bed at any time during the show. So all you exhibitionist ladies give Todd and Tyler a call to arrange a nude tanning session. Tomorrow is the first installment of Big Beefy Friday. Gene from the Brass Grille (1207 Harney) will be stopping by to cook up some meat for the guys and help tempt Travis. There may be a Funny Bone guest tomorrow as well although nothing was mentioned about it this morning. Tune in from 5:30 to 10am for the show. Thanks for watching. Good night. –Corby-
