Monday 3-5-01

Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning discussing their weekends. The girl’s high school basketball tournament was held in Lincoln over the weekend and broadcast on PBS so they spent a little time talking about that. TnT were a bit bummed out at the lack of close-ups on the television broadcast. Donnie’s uncle, Uncle Sweater Vest, lead his team of North Bend high school girls to a victory so TnT also extended some congratulations to him. Brian came in and did the news this morning as well.

TnT phoned Friday’s Vegas trip winner. Her name was Kelly Rump. She said she plans to take her husband with her and their most recent Vegas trip was back in October to celebrate their honeymoon. She seemed to pass the coolness test. After TnT spoke with her, they played a clip from today’s Vegas movie and spent some time discussing how bad they thought the movie is.

Larry the Cable Guy checked in today and delivered a commentary on how sad he is that the USA Network’s show, “La Femme Nikita” aired it’s final episode. Larry will check back in again later in the week with more commentaries.

Todd and Tyler spoke with Husker coach Frank Solich today. They spent some time talking about recruiting and what has been going on in the off-season as far as training. They also touched on Crouch’s arm and what sort of condition it’s in. Towards the end of the conversation, the guys talked a little Dodge Ball with the coach. He seemed to get a kick out of the fact that TnT have their own dodge ball league.

This morning was the annual Selection show for this year’s March Madmen tournament. Todd Tyler spent a great deal of time this morning taking listener suggestions and coming up with their own ideas as to who will be taking part in this year’s competition. TnT had audio clips from things they’ve done in the past year that pertained to many of today’s suggested entries and played the various clips all morning. Lots of great suggestions were phoned in and discussed and it sounds like TnT are going to have yet another great March Madmen tournament for 2001. Keep listening so you don’t miss any of the match-ups.

At one point during their March Madmen suggestions, the guys got a call from someone they’d added to their list. The bus driver from Springfield who got in trouble for allegedly having relations with a male student phoned TnT and was very upset. She tried to convince TnT that everything was in the past and they didn’t know the whole story but when TnT prompted her to tell them what really happened, she clammed up.

Tonight is Monday Meltdown, a.k.a. the Ft. Calhoune Dodge Ball game. The guys went over their roster for the game, which included first-time players Travis and Dr. Ed. As far as smack/love from the town they’re playing at, Ft. Calhoune has been the weakest to respond out of all the towns TnT have played. They took a call or two this morning from people who plan to attend but the guys just weren’t feeling the love. They’re going out to whoop some ass this evening anyway and will provide us with a detailed report tomorrow.
