TnT Show 04-30-2001

Greetings Todd and Tyler fans! The day we’ve been waiting for has arrived and the Todd and Tyler web site is back up and running! First off, before getting into today’s update, I’d like to give a quick thanks to everyone at FTS for putting together a killer website. Special thanks goes to Jonathon Witherspoon and Bill Micek for the countless e-mails about getting various things fixed. You two are awesome. JP Cruise, thank you for keeping me in the loop while things were getting sorted out. Okay, on to today’s update.

Monday 4-30-01

Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning discussing several items in the news. Bob Kerry’s Vietnam story that was all over the media over the past few days was a major topic as was the big meeting for Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway shareholders. The guys spent some time discussing the local TV coverage of the event and joked that the television stations “sucked Buffett’s ass” all weekend. The President’s daughter was busted for Minor In Possession over the weekend. TnT concluded that she was obviously the partier in the family because she went to a Texas party college while her twin sister, the one who doesn’t get in trouble, is attending Yale. The guys also spent some time joking about the Pope’s attempt to talk Bush out of killing McVeigh in a few weeks. TnT also spent some time this morning talking about Donnie’s big wrestling association.

Early in the show, Todd got a call from his girlfriend saying that she had been in an accident while driving Todd’s kids to school. A deer ran out in front of her car and caused a little damage. No one was hurt except the deer, who reportedly waddled off to die somewhere along Highway 50.

The Omaha Lancers won the Clark Cup Final game against the Lincoln Stars on Saturday night. TnT spoke with Coach Mike Hastings about the victory. Coach said that it was a tremendous game and everyone was very pleased with the victory. More than 1000 fans were waiting at Aksarben to welcome the team home from Lincoln after Saturday night’s game. Mike gave Todd and Tyler details on the next stage for the Lancers. They’re headed to Chicago to play in the tournament this weekend. The first game takes place on Friday night.

This morning TnT kicked off their big Car Tune of the Day contest. They played a song in which you have to listen for during JP or Bruce’s shift. Once you hear it, be the 92nd caller and you’ll win a key. That key will be tested in about a month as TnT give away a Schrier Mazda Miata. Listen daily for further details.

Larry the Cable Guy phoned the show this morning. He delivered a commentary on how the Peruvian Air Force recently shot down a missionary plane. He also promoted the upcoming Larry the Cable Guy day in his hometown. He’ll be appearing at the Funny Bone in a few weeks as well. Stay tuned for more details.

The guys spent some time talking with Slave Boy Jeremy this morning. Donnie invited Jeremy to come out and watch the big wrestling event the OWA had over the weekend but Jeremy declined because he said he had to build a doghouse for his new pet. His pet, a Husky dog, was given the very gay name of “Cody”. TnT gave Jeremy a hard time about the pansy name and the fact that Jeremy claimed he couldn’t go to Donnie’s wrestling event because he had to build a doghouse.

Towards the end of the show, TnT spoke with Shirley Jones. Momma Partridge is coming to Oakview Mall this week as part of a big History Channel clothing tour. From the sounds of it, she’s touring the country with replicas of outfits worn in some older movies. The guys also spent some time discussing her days as Momma Partridge and talking about the various “behind the scenes” shows and documentaries made about the television show. Towards the end of the interview, Shirley tried to talk TnT into buying the 2.9 million dollar home she’s lived in for the last 35 years. She was very cool and seemed to enjoy her time with Todd and Tyler.

Well, that’s it for the Monday update. Check back here tomorrow for the Tuesday version. Thanks for watching. Good night. –Corby-
