Friday 5-4-01

Todd and Tyler stared off the show this morning discussing people who will be appearing at the Junior Bryant celebrity golf tournament taking place tomorrow. They listed a bunch of famous people in the world of sports and spent some time talking about a few things surrounding the tournament. Later in the show, TnT spoke with Junior about some of the details of the event. They also spoke with 13-year NFL veteran Ken Norton Jr. and discussed his football history, his future in the sport and they touched on his father, who was a boxer.

Version 3 came in studio and played a couple of tunes for Todd and Tyler. They sounded great. If you missed them, they’ll be appearing at the Anchor Inn tonight and tomorrow. Stop on out and see them. If the rain lets up, they’ll play outside, if not, they’ll be indoors.

TnT spent some time talking about proms earlier in the week because Todd’s son is going to his first prom tomorrow. Somehow, Todd managed to talk his son into letting them speak to his date on the air. TnT called the 17-year-old girl, Laura, and talked with her about how she got hooked up with Todd’s son and then discussed their pre-prom plans. She informed TnT that they’re going with another couple, plan to eat and ride the horse carriage in the Old Market and then head to the prom. From the sounds of it, after the dance, they’ll be going to a post-prom party sponsored by the school.

Larry the Cable Guy checked in this morning and delivered a commentary on fat police officers. He questioned if they’d actually be able to stop a criminal. Bobby Slayton from the Funny Bone came in around 7:30am this morning. He spent the remainder of the show talking with Todd and Tyler about a variety of things. The guys tried to get some of the latest Hollywood gossip out of Bobby and then moved on to discussing his career. Bobby is in a movie with Bruce Willis that’s supposed to be coming out around Thanksgiving. He shared some of the details of the film with TnT. Later, he talked about the new HBO series he will be appearing in. The guys talked with him about a possible role on “The Sopranos”.

Bobby referred to Travis as “The boy who doesn’t masturbate” during his last trip to Omaha. This morning, he picked up where he left off a year ago and continued the Travis bashing even before Travis came in to do sports. Basically, Todd and Tyler pointed out everything they give Travis a hard time about and let Bobby run with it, which he did. In regards to what Bobby called Travis and the ways in which he insulted our favorite sports guy, there is far too much to document. Surprisingly, Travis knew it was coming and took it like a man. Trav even said he’d be going to Bobby’s late show this evening after Bobby promised not to give him any crap at the Funny Bone. Catch Bobby’s act while he’s in town.
