| Wookin Pa Nub ![]() ![]() | TnT Show 05-10-2001 Thursday 5-10-01 Todd and Tyler began their show this morning with an announcement regarding the 8th Annual Todd and Tyler Golf Tournament. Previous to this morning, the price for the tournament was set at $92 per person. TnT announced that they have lowered the price to only $70 per person and anyone who previously paid $92 would be getting a $22 refund. The reason behind the price drop had something to do with Port-A-John liability insurance. TnT mentioned that the golf course wanted them to have some sort of deposit put down and said it was because of the possibility of vandalism. After hearing that Donnies neck buddies werent going to be there, those buddies who have caused Port-A-John vandalism problems at TnT tournaments in previous years, they were able to lower the price for Todd and Tylers tourney! There are still spots available for the tournament. Just stop by the Z-92 building at 11128 John Galt Blvd. (right off of 108th and L Street) and the receptionist will be able to get you all taken care of. Also early in the show, TnT congratulated Travis on his sportscast last night on Fox. He did something unique and rather ballsy. With all the hype going around about the Huskers baseball team possibly getting into the College World Series, Travis took it upon himself to show just how clueless Husker fans are when it comes to baseball. His intent was to point out that the people claiming to be Husker baseball fans are, in reality, just Husker football fans looking to get on the baseball teams bandwagon. He pointed out that the normal number of people who attend a Husker baseball game in Lincoln is around 2000 but at last nights Husker Vs. Creighton game in Omaha, they drew close to 12,000. When Trav came in later in the show, the guys brought up his package again and spent some time discussing it. What Travis did was to ask the so-called Husker baseball fans a few simple questions. Those people, in turn, made themselves look like fools for their lack of knowledge. Trav asked people what they thought about the rumor that Crouch was going to pitch the game and the response was something to the effect of, Cool. He also asked if people felt Memorial Stadium looks smaller when the Huskers play baseball in it as apposed to football. Trav hit them with a few other similar questions too. You can see where he was headed. Basically, Travis said he did the same thing Jay Leno does when he does his man-on-the-street interviews for the Tonight Show. Ask the public simple questions, air them un-edited and the people will prove themselves to be idiots. Todd and Tyler applauded Travis for doing something no other Omaha TV sports guy would do. TnT got into a discussion about food this morning. I think it came about after a commercial mentioned genetically altered corn, which then lead into the question of whether or not such corn is digestible or ends up coming out like Tylers now-famous full olive excretion after eating an Old Chicago pizza. Tyler pointed out that adults shouldnt be very picky about the types of foods they eat, while Todd mentioned a few things he wouldnt eat as a kid. As the conversation developed, the guys started to focus more on strange foods they didnt particularly care for as kids. Todd talked about not liking tomatoes or cold slaw because of their slimy textures, Tyler discussed eating pig stomachs as a child and Donnie talked about some weird Bohemian foods he was familiar with as a kid. TnT opened the phone lines and took a lot of calls from people who shared strange foods with them. Pig brains and stomachs, Limburger cheese and onion sandwiches, blood pudding, duck blood soup and several other very disturbing cuisines were discussed. They phoned Tylers dad and talked about the intricacies of preparing a pig stomach meal and talked about a few foods in the Pennsylvania Dutch area. Later, they phoned Todds dad and talked about some foods of German and Norwegian heritage. Todd recalled one food that grossed him out but his dad used to eat, sardines, and his father said he still eats them. At that point Tyler said he also likes sardines, but in the mustard sauce. The calls and discussion continued throughout the show. Sean Gnant from the Funny Bone came in studio this morning and hung out for a while. As he joined the topics of the day, Travis pointed out that Sean seemed to have new material. Everyone likes to give Sean a hard time about his act but Sean seemed to be on a bit of a roll today. Also, Donnie must have been working on his impersonation of Sean lately because he totally nailed it, with the exception of the occasional Hank Hill influence. At one point in his visit, Donnie and Sean pulled off a very funny Dueling Gnants moment. There was a moment in the show where Donnies impersonation of Sean worked so well that he had Sean parodying himself! Late in the show, TnT got a brief phone call from comedian Bob Nelson. Bob is going to be at the Funny Bone for a 1 night show this coming Monday. The guys asked him about a few of the characters he plays in his comic act. Bob talked with them a little bit but then slipped into a couple of those characters. The conversation was rather short because Bobs gate was telling him he had to board. He will be joining TnT in studio on Monday so tune in. Well, thats about it for the update today. Check back here tomorrow for the Friday version. Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby-
