Tuesday 5-29-01

Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning by discussing their very busy weekend. Friday afternoon, the guys held their 8th Annual Todd and Tyler golf tournament. They were pleased at the lack of rain but did say it was a bit windy on the course. By their own admission, the Todd and Tyler 4-some was among the rowdiest on the course and they seemed quite grateful of that. They talked a bit about various pin prizes and then moved on to discussion of the alleged winners of the tourney who claimed to have scored a 59. TnT knew the team had cheated based on information they received from other golfers nearer to the 4-some. TnT mentioned that in their future tournament, they will most likely not award a prize to the winners in an effort to stamp out the cheaters. The guys also brought up how a few people gave Mayor Elect Mike Fahey a hard time about his daughter but Mr. Fahey was able to blow them off. TnT thanked all the sponsors and everyone who attended, including the strippers from The 20’s who all came as part of the http://www.whosyourcaddy.net” target=blank>www.whosyourcaddy.net group.

On Saturday, Todd and Tyler were at Shrier Mazda and gave away a Miata. There were 26 keys given to listeners during the contest and each person got the opportunity to get in the Miata and see if their key turned the ignition. Well, TnT went through all 26 contestants and none of the keys worked! Due to a funky little steering wheel related glitch (it had to be turned a bit in order to start), the guys had all the contestants retry. A few keys into the second attempt and a woman named Rhonda from a town outside Columbus started the car. They phoned her later in the show which will be detailed in a moment.

Also at the Shrier Mazda give away on Saturday, Todd and Tyler’s “What would you do to see Aerosmith” contest took place. Loady got zapped with a stun gun 3 times and uncontrollably dropped 3 “f-bombs”. He checked in today to talk about the pain. The guys mentioned that one of the bean wrestling women’s long boobs popped out and scared a child. TnT also detailed the winner of the contest who turned out to be the man who let his buddy cut his hair with a weed whacker and hedge trimmers. He and his friend won the trip to Boston to see Aerosmith at some point in the near future.

Sunday was the big “Rockin’ on the River” party at the Anchor Inn. Both Todd and Tyler said that they were going to try to hold off on their drinking until later in the event but it didn’t work out. Todd said he lasted about 5 minutes before he had a beer in his hand and began enjoying the entertainment. Tyler said that he tried to keep himself hydrated by drinking a beer, then water, a beer then water. Someone neglected to tell him that a watermelon isn’t exactly “water” and it kind of defeated the purpose of Tyler’s “hydration” idea. Consequently, both of the guys were pretty hammered and didn’t recall a tremendous amount about the event. They took a few calls from people who attended as well as a band member or two and briefly talked about a fight involving a nasty divorce and new boyfriends bumping chests.

Kevin McKenzie from Great Plains Counseling Center stopped by today for a few hours. Todd and Tyler opened up the phone lines to listeners who had trained counseling related questions for Kevin and the calls came pouring in. For each question, he offered his expert advice while Todd and Tyler gave their opinions on how each caller could be helped. There were quite a variety of topics covered this morning ranging from general relationship questions to talking about divorce with your children. There were also several calls about how parents should discuss sexually related issues with their kids, including one from a woman who’s daughter caught her and her new boyfriend in the act of boot knocking.

One of the more interesting counseling sessions today came when a female listener checked in for Kevin’s advice over an issue that arose when the ex-husband’s girlfriend loaned their 9-year-old daughter an astrology book with sexual content. After the woman phoned in, her ex-husband called and offered his side of the story. Another interesting call came from a man who said that he believed his last 5 girlfriends had left him because he has a small penis. TnT had a good time with that call and after hearing the caller proclaim that he has a 6-inch throckmorton, average by the counselor’s data, they joked about how he was probably measuring from his shoulder blades.

Kevin McKenzie’s visit to the show this morning was pretty cool and it really sounds as if Todd and Tyler want to make his visits to the show a regular feature. The guys wrapped up today’s show by getting a hold of the winner of the Mazda Miata they gave away on Saturday afternoon. Her name is Rhonda and she was ecstatic about winning the vehicle. She and her husband said they wouldn’t be selling the car in the auto trader like many previous winners and have even decided to keep all of the decals on it. Her husband has gone as far as cleverly referring to their new car as the “Z-ata”.
