TnT Show 06-06-2001

Wednesday 6-6-01

Todd and Tyler started off the show this morning by reading another hate e-mail from a Husker fan. This one claimed to be a Creighton alum and make $600,000 per year yet he couldn’t spell, punctuate or form a decent sentence. TnT read the e-mail several times throughout the show and disputed the fact that the e-mailer went to school and/or made such a large income. The guys also spent a little time early on reading some e-mails that didn’t relate to the CWS, the Huskers or hatred in general.

TnT discussed CB radios for a while this morning. The reason for the discussion was that today is the 25th anniversary of that wonderful, stellar, brilliant Chip Davis creation, “Convoy”. The guys played clips of the song, talked about Chip Davis’s music and reminisced about their younger days back in the 70’s when CB radios were a way of life. They brought up the subject again later in the show and luckily, they didn’t make us sit through an entire playing of “Convoy”.

It was reported that some people already camping out at the Johnny for tickets to the CWS games were asked to leave by the police department and threatened with a trespassing charge if they didn’t. When the story was brought up during news, several of the men who were down at the Johnny and saw what happened phoned Todd and Tyler’s show. Both callers said that they were now camping out across the street on a grassy area, which was not a part of the Johnny’s property. TnT thought it was stupid to make them leave in the first place because they weren’t hurting anyone. As a later caller pointed out, though, the reason the 30-40 people were asked to leave is because there weren’t restroom facilities set up to accommodate people camping out for tickets this early. TnT were upset a bit by that as well because they figured the CWS folks would have enough sense to prepare for Husker fans to start camping early because they’re already here in town, unlike many of the other team’s fans who haven’t arrived in Omaha yet. TnT got the cell number of one of the men down camping near the Johnny and will most likely speak with him again tomorrow.

Dr. Ed came in this morning and spent an entertaining few hours with Todd and Tyler. He answered a plethora of questions and talked about many issues including heavy flows, bleeding teeth, shin splints, pigeon toes, infected testicular hair, anal leakage and gnarly smelling farts. There was quite a bit of talk about the anus this morning and, although the thought of bloody, torn bungholes is a bit disturbing, it was still a very funny and interesting Dr. Ed visit. Aside from talking about medical related things, TnT discussed the Rice Vs. Husker baseball games that Dr. Ed attended instead of going to Vegas with his buddies. Even though Dr. Ed’s team lost, he didn’t seem too upset by it on the air but he was obviously disappointed. Maybe next year, Dr. Ed.

Todd and Tyler spoke with Chad from Ticket Express today. They didn’t talk for very long because Chad was quite busy with the recent influx of Husker fans looking to buy and sell CWS tickets. TnT did discuss the reasons why the Husker game CWS tickets are a bit higher than the other match-ups. Chad said he still has some tickets so if you’d like to get a hold of him, call Ticket Express at 398-1999 or visit http://www.cwstickets.com” target=blank>www.cwstickets.com.

Towards the end of the show, the band B.B. came in studio and performed a few tunes for Todd and Tyler. They sounded great even when they were assisting Todd and Tyler in a spontaneous verse of “Matthew, Mark, Luke and Earnhardt.” The band is going to have a double CD release party at the Ranch Bowl on Thursday 6-14-01. 3-Day Meat Sale and some DJ guy named Sparkle Crest For Kids or something will also be at the party so stop on out and support them.

Well, that’s it for the update today. Tune in tomorrow form 5:30 to 10 am for another show and then swing back by the TnT web page in the afternoon for another update. Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby-
