| Straight Pimpin ![]() | TnT Show 06-07-2001 Thursday 6-7-01 Todd and Tyler started off the show this morning by discussing last night’s news coverage, the first 6 minutes of which was nothing but CWS-related. Tyler saw the coverage and rightfully complained about the fact that telling people how to get to the Johnny really isn’t news. When one turns on the local TV newscast, they want to see actual news not a bunch of fluff and Husker ass sucking. Todd didn’t get the chance to watch any of last night’s coverage because he hasn’t had TV for several days. Now that he is moved in to his new house, the cable is supposed to be installed today, which Todd is looking forward to. The guys also phoned their CWS in-line-as-we-speak correspondent early in the show to talk about how things are going down there. TnT were e-mailed a list of questions by a listener who writes some form of religious newsletter. They thought they were being ambushed as all of the questions in the e-mail were quite loaded. TnT sort of had the impression that the newsletter publisher was trying to set them up in some way and hesitated in answering any of the questions posed by the e-mail. Shortly after they expressed their hesitance, the guy phoned the show to state that he was indeed a listener and enjoyed the program. He also said he was a born again Christian but disagrees a lot with the church as a whole. Knowing that, TnT were a bit more comfortable in answering the questions, which included things such as, “If you were God for a day, what would you do?” and “What are your thoughts on God and the Devil?” TnT went through the list and answered most of the questions, some serious, others jokingly. The College World Series talk continued throughout much of this morning’s show. The guys spent more time talking about Husker fans, the various teams, ticket prices, the people camping out, the radio station’s plans for the event and more. At one point in the show, Donnie attempted to get a hold of the Husker baseball team coach but when he got him on the line, the coach said he didn’t have time to go on the air with TnT. From that point on, Donnie referred to the coach as a prick. Donnie secured an interview with Jim Morris, the Miami baseball team’s head coach. By getting an out-of-town coach on the air to talk to TnT, I think Donnie was trying to point out how much of a jerk he felt the Husker coach was in not joining TnT for a few minutes; the out of town guy would talk to TnT but the local guy wouldn’t. Todd and Tyler spoke with Jim about his team, the atmosphere in college baseball in general, the trend of northern players going to southern schools and they also talked a little bit about the Huskers being in the CWS. Musician Bob Malone came in studio this morning and hung out with Todd and Tyler for a while. He played a few tunes and sounded great; very Randy Newman like. You can catch Bob at Trovado’s tonight, some guy’s house on Friday night and then at McCormick’s on Saturday. Feel free to visit his web site at http://www.bobmalone.com” target=blank>www.bobmalone.com. Sean Gnant from the Funny Bone stopped by the Todd and Tyler show today. He’s opening up for J MedicineHat for the next few weeks. Sean joined in on the topics of the day and talked a little bit about some recent performances at the Bone. To catch Sean and MedicineHat this week, call the Bone Phone at 493-8036. Well, that’s about it for the update today. Tune in tomorrow from 5:30 to 10 am for another show. J MedicineHat will be in studio and Todd and Tyler will be giving away some CWS tickets for a Husker game. Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby-
