| Straight Pimpin ![]() | TnT Show 06-21-2001 Thursday 6-21-01 Todd and Tyler started off the show this morning by talking about last night’s Z-92 Night at the Funny Bone. They were a little hung over because when you’re at the Funny Bone you don’t realize just how much you’re drinking. There were several of Todd and Tyler’s Home Girl Hottie listeners in the audience to see Darrell Joyce and one of them won $92 just for coming to the show. Rumpy was a drunken fool and seemed to have pissed TnT off for making comments out loud during the comic’s acts. TnT spent some time discussing the “asshole drunk” phenomenon and pondered how people who are normally pretty cool sober can turn into assholes while drinking. They opened up the phone lines for people to confront their friends who turn into stupid drunks but they didn’t get much response. Perhaps the guys will bring up the topic again in the future because, as we all know, we all have some friends who turn into complete assholes when they drink. TnT spent a good portion of this morning’s show discussing a quiz in “For Him” magazine that was filled with questions about whether or not you could be considered a TnT’s lawyer friend Michael came in studio this morning and hung out for a bit. On occasion, a caller checked in to ask Michael for some legal advice. Covering his butt, like any good lawyer would, Michael read a written statement before dispensing any legal advice in which prompted the caller not to take his advice and to seek council of his or her own attorney. It was pretty funny stuff. TnT spoke with David Lander this morning. He played Squiggy on “Laverne and Shirley” years ago and by his own admission, has been taking crappy acting jobs over the past 15 years or so for the insurance. You see, David has had Multiple Sclerosis for the last 17 years and in order for him to continue with his insurance as an actor, he has been taking pretty much any job that would keep his insurance from dumping him. TnT spoke with David about his career, education, his disease and the new book he’s written about having MS. The interview was awesome and David seemed to enjoy talking to TnT. Donnie mentioned that he will be airing the interview on the “Best Of” show on Saturday so if you missed it today, you might want to check it out. You can also call 1-800-FIGHT-MS for more information on the disease. Gene from the Brass Grille (1207 Harney) came in studio this morning and read the sports for Attaboy Travis, who is still on vacation. Gene, being a good New Yorker, filled this morning’s sportscast with details on the Mets and the Jets. It was one of the funnier sports casts we’ve heard in quite some time. I believe Attaboy Trav will be back on Monday so all of you dirt track people can get your fix then. Acoustic Groove came in studio this morning and played a couple of tunes for TnT. They also mentioned that they will be playing at Midwest Fest 3 or something like that but the details on that show were a bit scatterbrained so I didn’t get a chance to get them all. From the sounds of it, that show will be one of the last Acoustic Groove shows for a while. Kermit Holliday from the Funny Bone came in again this morning and hung out with TnT for a bit. He spent some time talking about last night’s Funny Bone show and then joined in on the topics of the day, which included the stud or dud sex quiz from earlier in the show. Check Kermit out at the Funny Bone all week. Call 493-8036 for reservations. Well, that’s about it for the update today. Check back tomorrow for the Friday version. Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby-
