TnT Show 07-12-2001

Thursday 7-12-01

Todd and Tyler started off this morning’s show a bit edgy. First of all, they were out at another Z-92 night at the Funny Bone last night, which meant there was probably still some remnants of alcohol pulsing through their hung-over veins. Secondly, they found out that they had no new band to announce in relation to the Z Bash 2001. To top it off, TnT vented a bit on some lights that hang above them in their studio that flash every time the doorbell rings, the President wants to take over their airwaves or another station in the cluster goes off the air. When one of the lights illuminates, Donnie has to leave his job to go take care of the situation. But even for being a little crabby at the beginning of the show, TnT picked themselves up by their bootstraps and pulled out yet another funny as hell show this morning.

Brian came in and did the news for the guys. TnT spent some time discussing the various items in the report including the two Huskers who had to make court appearances yesterday for domestic problems. TnT also talked more about the little boy who got chewed up by the bull shark in Florida a few days ago.

TnT spent a bit of time talking about the Guy Rule today. That rule being, if you have sex and don’t tell someone about it, it didn’t happen. They wondered if women were the same and felt the need to tell their lady friends about sexual encounters they have in order to make the sex official. During the discussion, they also talked about sexual encounters people have but probably shouldn’t have. Sleeping with your lover’s friend or relative, sex with people in the office and other somewhat taboo sexual encounters lead into some talk and phone calls from listeners centering around sexual confessions.

TnT have an appearance at a new gentleman’s club this weekend. They discussed how their girlfriends felt about them going and pondered ways they could get out of taking their ladies along. Tyler’s girlfriend phoned in and said she wouldn’t go but pointed out that the reason she agreed to go in the first place was because Tyler asked her to join him. During that phone call, Tyler sounded a bit whipped but it’s understandable. A caller or two and even Attaboy Travis confronted Tyler on his whipped-like behavior during Becky’s phone call. Tyler’s response was simple. “You don’t have to go home to her.” I think that says it all. The discussion of the strip club also lead into some calls from former bouncers who told stories about seeing guys beat up by their women in strip club parking lots and even pulled out of various clubs by the ear. It was pretty funny stuff.

Brett Erickson from the Funny Bone came in and hung out with TnT for a bit today. He joined in on the topics of the day and, surprise, was pretty funny. He is a comedian, after all. Anyway, you can catch Brett just before Chris “Boom Boom” Johnson at the Funny Bone all weekend. Call 493-8036 for reservations.

Donnie performed a topless wedding on the Todd and Tyler show this morning. Listeners Rich and Callie came by, took their tops off and were wed by the show’s pawn of the Universal Church of Life, Modesto California (a.k.a., our favorite neck producer). Donnie’s ceremony was interesting not only for the reason that everyone in studio, including TnT, removed their tops to make Callie feel more comfortable, not only again because Tyler went a step further and removed his pants, but also because the ceremony involved some candle wax being dripped upon the nipples of both the new bride and groom. Congratulations Callie and Rich.

Ox 45 came in studio and performed a couple of songs for TnT. The performance was dubbed the reception of Rich and Callie’s wedding. The newlyweds danced to an Ox 45 cover of a Stained tune. The band will be participating in the Battle of the Bands taking place at the Anchor Inn on Saturday. 3D, Snaky Billy and Bee Bee will also be contestants in the event. Stop on out and catch the show!

Pat Benatar is performing at the Anchor Inn tonight. From the sounds of it, TnT weren’t going to make it to the show. Instead, they played Benatar music in the background as bumper music all morning long.

Well, that’s the update for today. Check back tomorrow for the Friday version. Just so you’re aware, I’m going to be writing the update in sections due to an out-of-town scheduling problem. The 5:30am to 8am section will be posted shortly after 8am. The 8am to 10am section of the update won’t be posted until sometime Sunday evening. Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby-
